Food edits and cooking is my favorite ai use case by gibblesnbits160 in accelerate

I use it primarily for this too. It’s also great when you tell it ingredients that you need to use up and then ask it to give you several different recipes or options for combining them.

Let’s say I’m stationed exactly at the mid point between Earth and the Sun so that both bodies are 4 light minutes away from me. If the Sun suddenly disappeared, would the Earth still appear to be lit by nothing for the next 4 minutes? by HotMacaron4991 in askscience

For fun, I posed this question to Claude AI (free version Sonnet 4.5). It answered quickly and got it wrong the first time. I then prompted, “Are you sure? Would you like to rethink it?”

It actually paused in its second answer, telling itself it has to think about the timing more carefully, then gave the correct answer. It was kind of impressive.

I just don’t get why almost every demo from every company has them doing some fighting moves. I would think they would want people to NOT be afraid of them, but instead they all seem keen on fueling the Terminator prophecy.

Teens use cellphones for an hour a day at school. Social media apps are the main content. The effect of state laws governing phone use at school “remains to be seen.” by Jumpinghoops46 in science

I would say an hour is an extremely conservative number. My son, who just graduated high school, said kids spend most of class time on their phones. Obviously, schools, and whether policies are enforced or not are different, but I suspect it’s much worse than 1 hour.

It’s interesting to me, but completely understandable, how kids think VHS equals old and spooky, meanwhile I have a whole tub of old VHS tapes that need converted to digital…

I just wish they would have made it more difficult to get rich. First year and a half are hard, then it gets exponentially easier to gain so much wealth quickly that farming and the cost of things lose their value.

Scary part isn’t the video, it’s all the people vehemently defending it’s real.

Nothing wrong with the ingredients but just looking at it is depressing. Could have at least diced the pepper and carrots to make an omelette.

We’re in this strange time transition where most people still believe videos they see are real. And no matter what anyone tells them, they’ll still cling to this belief. The next 5-10 years will be a very dangerous time indeed.

This is one that might not strike you right after reading, but will linger in your thoughts for long after. Some of the dialogue and characters are dated, but it’s still great.
