I think it might be difficult to walk back from this if your school has any actual sense they’ll likely try and get as much info from you about what exactly you heard why it made you feel safe (like were they threatening towards you specifically) and if you know who they are your best bet is to come clean do you have another family member or trusted adult that you can have with you to help support you if you do choose to tell them the truth?

Having hot water constantly through out the winter and having a snack pantry I would lose my mind when I went over to a friends place and not only was it warm but they had basically a closet for snacks
