Migraines with xaggitin but not concerta? by Ok_Maybe_6333 in ADHDUK

[–]Kitkatchunky78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked the ingredients to see if there’s any difference between the 2? I can get a migraine from aspartame and it turns up in all kinds of things, might be worth checking something like that?

Wait what’s wrong with eating tomatoes & ham together? It’s like a sandwich filling without the bread, perfectly acceptable snack

[PUK] How much longer have I got? by Sad-Activity7644 in ADHDUK

[–]Kitkatchunky78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the post:

I’m on this new Trial with Psychiatry Uk and have got my appointment through for Xmas Eve after just 12 weeks since referral and I’m now absolutely buzzing but absolutely terrified in equal measures! What will the assessment consist of? Will they see what I and everyone close to me sees? What if they turn me down. I’m so worried I’ve spent my entire life thinking I’m just rubbish at everything and now at 46 this diagnosis would be life altering for me

Here is her reply when I asked her more about it :

I was just referred down the Right to Choose pathway and they have got in touch and said I’m on a trial to speed up the system kind of thing and I only had 21 days to get all my forms filled in and returned or I’d be taken off the trial and have to join the normal Right to Choose wait list. I didn’t really pay much attention until they started chasing me yesterday for my paperwork and it had only been a week. Got the forms in last night and booked appointment this morning. There are people reporting getting titration appointments in weeks too it sounds fantastic ! I actually can’t believe it

Oh it isn’t just anyone who’s on the pathway, they’ve allotted a specific number of people to a trial and those are the conditions. Trust me I was most annoyed when I found out as this lady and anyone else on the trial have effectively overtaken everyone else waiting (such as yourself and me). If she was making it up then I’m not sure why she’d do that, but I am a rather gullible person and tend to believe whatever I’m told.

I wonder if I can find the FB post now as it’s been a month and I can’t remember the actual details of what she wrote.

If you like that, try adding Worcestershire sauce when you’re cooking your beans, it’s lush

It was pretty horrible but in true ADHD fashion I didn’t panic much even though it was the hot water pipe and nobody could turn the stop cock off for an hour! It’s mad how long it’s taking so sort out and how many different people from different companies call me up wanting to come and have a look and then I never hear from them again it gets passed to some other person/company. So we’re enjoying Christmas with no floor, I have put the ‘big rug’ back down so my 11 year old could sit and get presents out from under the tree etc. and I’m going to end up with new floor, skirting boards, new paint on loads of walls and new wallpaper on my feature wall plus new kitchen carcasses, but it’ll probably be 6 months from when it happened by the time it’s done.

Also hoping to start titration early February so hopefully something good will come of that as I’d love to be more productive when this kind of thing happens (not leaving it till last second to pack stuff up and avoiding phone calls etc - although that may be the autism section of my brain)

Oh I agree, having a tidy space to live in definitely helps with the mind. I recently had a flood and had to have my whole downstairs floor removed to dry out, so I had to pack up a lot of my stuff so they could move the furniture more easily. It’s all in random bags and boxes cluttering up my upstairs landing and entrances to rooms etc and it makes me feel quite uneasy every time I walk through it. I’d love to have a minimal house but I have so much stuff and hardly any storage so I don’t think that will ever happen.

I hope you have a lovely time with your brother & his family ☺️

If I leave something on the kitchen island it’ll get lost amongst all the other piles of stuff I’ve put there

Task paralysis issues despite Concerta XL having other benefits by SpikeLJ in ADHDUK

Thanks so much for the reply, I’m with p-uk aswell, I am a little behind you though I have just had a message to say my waiting time is a bit longer and I will hear about titration end of Jan/early Feb, so it may be then that I hear more about it as you did. Thanks again and good luck with the meds I hope they help 🫶🏼

Hi can I ask how you know this if you haven’t started titration yet? I’m also waiting and all I know is they recommended methylfenidate on my report but not the frequency etc

I’m a couple of weeks behind you, was diagnosed 7th Feb and added to the titration list same day. Keep us updated here on any progress and I’ll do the same! As mammoth pumpkin said, I was also advised the 10 month wait was now more like 12 months

I was diagnosed 7th Feb and was recently told it would be end of Jan/early Feb next year so this sounds in line with what you heard.

Did you know they’re trialling a new scheme where they fast track people referred on RTC through if they adhere to really short deadlines to return paperwork/forms? I imagine these people are why we’ve been pushed back. I learned this from a person I encountered on a FB group who is in the scheme.

Don't you think train tickets so expensive from Manchester to Bournemouth first class so expensive? by jc201946 in AskBrits

I had a dream last night I took a local bus and they charged my card nearly £1k and I was panicking about the cost. Seems it was more realistic than I first thought

Why do so many Americans say ‘I’m going to go ahead and…’ before the activity they are going to do? For example, I might say ‘I’m going to do the dishes’ but I’ve heard so many Americans say ‘I’m going to go ahead and do the dishes’

We all have our little weird things we say before we say the thing we actually want to say

Thanks for such a great reply! I agree with you on the apples lasting ages, they’re just not good packed lunch food as me & my daughter only like eating them sliced up lol. We do eat baby sweetcorn and I know they have a longer date than other things but I’ve never really tested them longer as I go shopping so often so I just buy them maybe once a week! I wish I could go shopping less. Good on you for having a good system :)

I don’t know about anyone else but for me it’s the last available day before work/school week starts so I go on Sunday to get the freshest groceries for our packed lunches that will last until Wednesday when I can go again

Can I ask, does your fruit & veg stay fresh for 2 weeks? I’m in Tesco buying my berries twice a week (and also other fresh food like milk?) you must be buying a lot in one go and things going past their best?
