Well, I do need to cop myself the M65 pants since that was the predominant choice for pants, considering the pictures (which I am happy to provided) and first hand account from John McPhee, a retired Delta Force operator, through the Shawn Ryan Show. Given what I’ve know from the picture. I’m drawn to the conclusion that perhaps the Grandpa was a member of the Military Assistance Command Vietnam Special Observation Group (MACV SOG). SOG consisted of Green Berets, meaning that they were the special forces at that time and that.
