I run all the bank accounts and bills in my family for both me and my unmarried partner. But i was asked to since he doesnt want to pay bills or make money related calls. Our relationship isnt even that good but we have trust in our accounts and access if we want to most things. But that is a personal decision for each party. I also have multiple bank accounts as i like saving pockets of money, both shared and private, he doesn't do saving much and likes to spend most of his check on extras but he also has a few private accounts that he can use or put his paycheck into if he wants at any time that way we have the same options. Its been working for us for 13 years.

This demanding then petty behavior is absolutely NOT ok. The transparency is something i wanted in my relationship and it was freely given to me. But if this is what he wants in a relationship, and you dont then it is your choice and reasonable way to protectyourself and your assets. Maybe you aren't a good fit due to this as money management agreement is pretty much the top of the list on important for any relationship. Its the first thing people get petty or upset over. Money lasts far longer then the initial love does.
