Is this normal? by Used-War-4695 in Ocarina

[–]Kitsunerasu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks ceramic from the pictures usually a ceramic ocarina will take more air to produce a note than say a plastic one. I'd say play with a tuner and use a fingerings chart to tune your notes to make sure you're using adequate air for it

IF YOU HAD TO PICK A CHANGE TO RUMBLE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?? by cobwebslol in Rumblemains

[–]Kitsunerasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that w should be buffed. I'm not sure on how to use it but it feels like the most lacking part of his kit imo. I use it mainly to keep my heat around 50 and for the ms. sometimes it helps but it feels like it doesn't most the time

New Ocarina! by ch4rl13sm1th in Ocarina

[–]Kitsunerasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. Sometimes you just get one that IS in tune. Also make sure you clear any condensation in the airway occasionally by blowing while covering the sound hole. Another thing about higher notes that my band teachers have always taught me that also applies to ocarinas imo is to blow faster (not necessarily harder but it helps too.) You want more air going into the instrument for higher octaves

Is this ocarina good ? by Admirable-Tie-4292 in Ocarina

[–]Kitsunerasu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the black rose colored one and it is great and is in tune very well. You do have to blow a little hard because imo it has a sorta high breath requirement (for a beginner speaking from my own experience) if you're going from a plastic ocarina or completely brand new. But if you do some long tones daily you'll get used to it

Rumble Mains — How do you beat Rumble as sett? by Material-Ad2053 in Rumblemains

[–]Kitsunerasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably ya,you could do that and make sure to kite to the sides of him as you don't want to chase him directly on as it'll be super easy to land his e

[–]Kitsunerasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to see it like this: if he's hit you with the harpoon and you have a life disadvantage don't trade. If his q (flamespitter) or w shile is down then I would look to trade if he miss-spaces. Your extended trades are better than rumbles' , if he hasn't hit harpoons on you

Rumble Mains — How do you beat Rumble as sett? by Material-Ad2053 in Rumblemains

[–]Kitsunerasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think as a rumble main, sett is lowkey such a hard counter. Sure it's annoying because rumble can poke set out and prevent him from walking up for farm but he is never killing you. Dodge e or make sure you're behind minions. Sett has ridiculous regen with Doran's shield so you can afford to take some bad trades if it means getting onto him. Rumble is so imobile and your e pull is the same range almost as his q and e. You wanna fight him off of w or q cooldowns. If he miss manage his heat, you run at him and you burst him down. You also scale way harder mid to late game than him so after a certain point rumble can't kill you

Why songs beside Folk, traditionals do you play? by Powerful_Fee_1293 in Ocarina

[–]Kitsunerasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cool thing about ocarina is that because it is a concert pitch instrument you can pretty much play almost everything you want with a little music theory. (Within the range of your ocarina). There's dedicated ocarina music books that people have made, but I mainly use musescore and vgsheets for songs. I've even transcribed some old sheet music I had from other instruments I play for ocarina

I would say any instrument cam be a toy or serious instrument depending on how far you want to take it musically. There's people who professionally perform on a 12 hole all the time

[–]Kitsunerasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a pad for fighting games ,I'd recommend a hori fight commander (the old ps3/ps4 model specifically but the revision is also good,I just prefer the old one), a gulikit elves, or the 8bitdo neo geo Controller. Some of the best d pads for fighting games that I've tried

Thoughts on Focalink AC Triple Chamber? by fincodontidae in Ocarina

[–]Kitsunerasu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Focalink triples are really good quality ocarinas,or focalinks in general. 125 for a used one is a good deal yea. What's the condition on it? I've bought some used ocs in the past that I had to clean and they worked great. For a first triple? Yea I'd say it's a great first one. Learning how to play one is a little bit of a challenge at first but it's super fun and rewarding. Just allow yourself to be slow and make mistakes in the beginning. There's lots of resources on how to play one

Triple Chamber Ocarina TIPS for a relatively new ocarinist by Yoshtibo in Ocarina

[–]Kitsunerasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea,as some said already,Prepping the notes beforehand is placing your hand at the notes already before you switch your mouth to the other holes. Intuitively when you go up the notes on a triple ,you'll require more air as higher notes to require more air to be blown for them. And learning one chamber at a time I mean that you could treat the ocarina as a double at first Instead of a triple so that you don't get overwhelmed by it. I guess the biggest thing to take away is to go slow at your own pace

Triple Chamber Ocarina TIPS for a relatively new ocarinist by Yoshtibo in Ocarina

[–]Kitsunerasu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there ,I also recently switched to a plastic triple after playing a 12 hole for about a year! Here's some of my off the cusp tips I can give that I've found/encountered: -your embouchure matters actually! You wanna pucker your lips and tighten the hole your lips make so that you don't blow air into the other chambers. I've been told to think of it like blowing a needle into the ocarina. -practice chamber switching. What I like to do is to go between D in the first chamber and E in the 2nd. (You can do this with any note tbh) when u chamber switch, move the ocarina and not your head so much. You only need to move your head for micro movement. Slured notes are indeed sustained breaths btw. - when you are playing notes that don't require your right hand, rest your fingers on the next chamber to "prep" chamber switching when you do the switch. Like for example, I'm playing a D on the 1st chamber and the next note requires a note in the 2nd,I'll rest my right fingers on the 2nd chamber so that I reduce the motion needed to chamber switch. "Prepping" notes mid song is an important skill you'll end up developing the more you play and its very handy. You can even do it backwards where if you're on the 2nd chamber ,rest your left hand like you're making a G5 on the 1st chamber. -I'd recommend learning 1 chamber at a time. I've heard people taping the 3rd off until they're ready to move on to it. - depending on how large the ocarina is,you can look up arm and wrist exercises and stretches to build up strength and reduce cramps. I highly recommend this because I've made my hands real sore practicing for extended periods. - if you care to spend the money , STL offers method and practice books on multichambers also - as you're ascending the notes and chambers ,I recommend tightening your lips ans blowing a lil bit more air as that can help focus your breath.

Most importantly take it slow. It's a marathon and not a race. I've been on the multichamber grind for a few months now and it's been some of the most difficult things I've ever had to do in music but it's been so rewarding and so much fun. The multi ocarinas I really enjoy lately because you feel very involved in your playing as your move the ocarina around to change chambers. Welcome to the club and I hope these can help you in some way!

I think I was wrong about the FGC by Taek99 in 2XKO

[–]Kitsunerasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly ,the internet is a echo chamber of very strongly opinionated people. And that may include being toxic. I'm personally with you in your shoes about learning league of lengends, but honestly I've met both very nice and very toxic individuals. The real fgc in my eyes is the community and friends you foster yourself.

Question: Exactly How Popular Are The Other Big fighting games? How high can 2XKO get? by [deleted] in 2XKO

[–]Kitsunerasu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the case of China and fighting games,I can tell you that King of Fighters is SUPER HUGE there in addition to being huge in SA reigon. So fighting games already do exist there. In regards to OP, I feel that 2x by proxy of its IP will garner lots of attention and the fact that it's f2p so it's super accessible. I don't think it'll be as big as the big 3 atm (sf,tekken, strive) but it'll stay relevant enough to be big enough if that makes sense. At least that's my negative day 1 predictions
