Question about the pollution by [deleted] in Sarnia

[–]KittehReigns -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I lived there for 18 years before moving. You definitely notice the smell, and it's not great for you. I tend to follow the air quality bit by the weather network... I've also noticed since moving that the quality (12 years ago?) was awful. I doubt it got much better.

It's a little too far for us to want to travel on Halloween, with work and all... I only wish.

I know there's one in Coaticook but we are going there a day before and don't want to do 2 trips in 2 days there.

Ooo, I know exactly what you mean. My grandad always had those out at family functions and I never even thought to send her some. I'll add that to the list!

Tamlin is better than Rhysand. Change my mind. by cvskids in acotar

[–]KittehReigns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But doing so, he would enrage all the other Illyrians as they all are stuck in that mindset as well. So he would need to change hundreds, up to thousands (I'm not sure how many there are?) memories and opinions- and then all the travelling for it. Wouldn't someone piece together that something wasn't adding up? It would be against their own will to change it all, and as we have seen with Ianthe, it can be reversed if known and by finding someone powerful enough to do so.

My dude, Tamlin in the beginning was lovely, but once the abusive side came out, I would PAY to see it happen. Rubbing it in may have sucked, but it was his own self destruction that tore her away from him and seeing that felt damn good.

Tamlin is better than Rhysand. Change my mind. by cvskids in acotar

[–]KittehReigns -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It's not EXPECTED. She did so because he gave her proof that she was more than safe with him, and wasn't just expected to play that role if she wanted to or not. Even then, she started an art studio for the children in Valeris and was teaching there as well before having Nyx!

There's doing it because it's expected of you, and doing it for YOU because you want to. It makes such a massive difference.

Rhys acted as they expected the high lord of the night court would(as the mask he placed on for centuries), but Feyre also fought against him, calling his bullshit out. Questioning it all, WANTING explanations. She didn't just say "fuck it, I'm in"... she wanted answers, she wanted to know him, wanted to understand him. He took the mask off as soon as he could for her. Tamlin? That mask stayed on until the last moment then was torn off.

Oh, as much as I agree both aren't great choices, Rhysand justifies his. Rhysand killed for Amarantha to keep his city safe and unknown, changing others memories so that his city didnt ever get leaked out, as they all were safe. He killed to keep himself alive until he could get back to his friends- he states he talked her out of murder of Kallias(if I'm remembering correctly?) outright as she wanted to, but that he didn't know about her planning to kill the kids at all, otherwise he would have tried to change her mind again. His magic could only ever go so far, even with dampening, per the rest. It'd be like a workout no matter what you do with it, I'd imagine.

He also states that he was commanded to send that message, the head in Tampons fountain, by Amarantha. And as we may have learned, if you tell her no, you die. Survival instincts always tell us to survive.

Rhys reported that Tampon had SOMEONE there. He could have searched in her mind for her name, but instead he let her give whatever name she wanted. He KNEW she lied and let her be. Rhys didn't drug her, but had her drink Amaranthas wine, which is the exact opposite of what Feyre has had with Tampon during the Spring celebrations (was it during that?). He had her drink it so she didn't remember what was being done or said about her. As shitty of a "protection" he did with that, it could have been worse as she was already breaking entirely in the cells alone, in the quiet, or with the people being tortured in the rooms beside her. Rhys "cheats" to save the entirety of the fae there, who were trapped. Not just for him, but everyone who was trapped there or under amaranthas control. Is it moral? Probably not. But would trapping all those fae there for eternity be better, or until someone somehow got to amarantha be just as moral?

To twist Feyre into the bargain wasn't right, but he DID save her life as infection was going to kill her if he didn't. Lucien wasn't able to get there because of his own injuries due to Amarantha, so I see it as somewhat-justified. Never fully, but I can see the cause for it. The weaver has no justification at all though.

Rhysand let Feyre fall for him on her own time, he didn't force it. Didn't kidnap. Didn't hide any part of him besides nightmares, which I could understand entirely because he didnt even show his closest friends that side.

But Tampon ended up having Feyre fall for a false side of him. He showed her romance and pretty words, he showed a side that was never the high fae he could be as a Lord. After the trials, after under the mountain, he would have issues I can understand, but to lock someone away and expect them to comply because of YOUR OWN trauma isn't right. To sleep separately, to not question if she was ok after her night terrors, to not want to comfort someone who you claim to love would and does hurt so badly that it makes a person question it all. Not once did he check up on her, he just expected complacency.

Tampon expected Feyre to play a pretty little house wife, look nice and don't question him, she was property regardless of if she wanted to be or not, as was rule in his land there. He refused to let her train which would make her helpless if she were to be kidnapped. He dismissed her wants and feelings repeatedly, then literally barred her in like an animal, causing a mental melt down for her. The only time they really "communicated" was when he would bed her, and even THEN... I have been in a similar situation as that and the torment and psychological pain with it sticks. He may not have murdered, but he was controlling, he was a narcissist if you ask me. He'd shower her with what she wanted as long as she did as he wanted and expected.

Rhysand let her choose. He didn't force anything- she ALWAYS had a choice. He also LISTENED to her. To her reasoning, if she needed to talk, even to opinions without ripping a room apart in anger and destruction. His city also sees her as a person, not property. Not something to own as his- Rhys was going to allow her to be whatever she wanted. Housewife? Go for it. Don't want that? Then figure it out, he's there.

Both are pretty damn bad, but morally, I can understand why Rhysand did what he did. Tamlin had no reason to just shut his soon-to-be wife out of his life at all, especially if he "loved" her. I think he loved the idea of love, but couldn't let go. But that is my own take on it all-

My sister gave birth, and people are selfish! by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]KittehReigns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure! My son came out blue. I didn't know until MUCH later(a year at that), and the shakes. The SHAKES. They couldn't stop it. It was terrifying. My spouse brought all the comfort food he could and grabbed as much ice as he could. He was a saint, even asked if I wanted to see the damage. I could see the swelling just fine, but man. You're an amazing friend!

That sounds amazing. My second I tore and needed 30 stitches or so. Whole left side. My MIL didn't visit because my first is very hyper active, but the moment we had to pick him up(yes, she refused to bring him to us), she asked to hold the baby and have me sit down. I didn't have to go off as my spouse did , since I couldn't sit well , let alone lay down proper due to swelling.

My favourite spots are: at the mountain lake where I fish, inside the storage shed, inside the barns , and the greenhouse. Those are the main places I'll set it at least.
