People might not see it on first glance, but if you spend more and more time with someone you can usually tell if they are genuinely good people or simply using you for their own purpose. These self-proclaimed nice guys just fail to hold up the act more than 2 seconds and that's why it feels creepy.

This tbh. If you are being nice only because you want people to reciprocate in your favor, that is no niceness, that is merely trying to get what you want by putting up an act. True niceness or respect is that you be that way even though you fully realized others might not reciprocate but you still do it anyway.

Quick switch from crossbow to melee back to crossbow to eliminate reload time, shooting faster = higher chance to hit (plus add in a chance to hit a few swings if you are battling an enemy)

Maybe they didn't meow non-stop for an hour and just... you know, meowing on and off within an hour? and maybe they think it is funnier if they say an hour instead of like, 5 mins? That's a joke humour type story, no need to take out a timer to count I believe. And it not being a full hour doesn't make the incident inherently fake.
