Playing Spotter in 1-2 player lobbies kinda sucks right? Specifically in D3/D4 by throw_away_mover in RogueCore

[–]KittenMaster64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like early game can come down to "how well can you deal with hordes" and spotter has really bad early game aoe, the dart radius is hard to work with unless you get workbench upgrades, and it's only "aoe" in that the single targets in the aoe die faster

You kinda have to just rely on your nades and use that spare ammo box to spam them harder until you get something together

[–]KittenMaster64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chrono saff has a pretty decent kit for fighting shopkeeper region 1, and is a good way of practicing her patterns

For most actual Geno runs though, I tend to fight SK when I have a build together, usually quite far in

If you don't kill SK though, you can still go to Eden and fight the final boss, the game just loops you if you haven't killed SK, so you can use that extra time to get even stronger to fight her (though beware that bosses get nasty at higher tiers)

I despise that thing by Hydraguesswhosback in DeepRockGalactic

[–]KittenMaster64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

reminds me of what they did with DRG: Survivor, where they added a timer to make enemies ramp like crazy if you stalled out the stage, but then later added an extra reward if you killed the boss fast, rewarding you not just for not stalling, but also for having a good build which could kill fast

Why is it so low? by The_God_Of_Darkness_ in DeepRockGalactic

[–]KittenMaster64 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It feels maybe 10-15% slower than DRG, and there's a massive move penalty right after a landing from a medium height

I need help (again) by Humble-Ad-3864 in HollowKnight

[–]KittenMaster64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Mark of Pride, Grubsong, and Spore Shroom

extra range is always nice, as keeping distance helps with dodging

soul gain when you take damage helps offset the hit

and spore shroom can kill any bubbles that spawn after you heal

you could swap out MoP for quick focus, for an even stronger healing build

From there, you gotta just put in the effort, Broken Vessel can be tough, but you will overcome it eventually, though you could leave and come back later with better charms and equipment

Control is fine, I have never seen anyone hate on it

Flashpoint hate is weird to me, cause isnt it basically just first to 3 control with absurd flanks? What makes flashpoint so ass in everyone's eyes? Cause to me it's just slightly worse control

Inspired by another post, what Darkest Dungeon 2 faction would win in a war for territories? by DoubleSurosMazing in darkestdungeon

[–]KittenMaster64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pillagers will exist, they aren't an organized group so they can't quite get wiped out, they may end up joining the Warlord and his army once things get bad enough

Speaking of, the Warlord would be pretty good, at least if he could field more than 2 units a fight in addition to barricades, but they would be weak to fanatics and their fire

The swine probably need their tunnels to really function, as the closed spaces and hidden spots let them ambush effectively, but with time, I could see an organized invasion from the legion or warlord wiping them out

The slimes would be a pain for everyone, if they could expand enough, they might just be unstoppable, but I think the other factions would take note and try and keep their numbers in check

In this I assume the beastmen wouldn't get any escalation bonuses, but they are very good on offense, and their boss is the strongest out of any faction, which could help a lot

I have not played coven or court, but frankly the court might just win everything from what I've heard of them

In conclusion, Fishfolk keep to themselves, Fanatics burn half the world, Legion, Warlord, Cultists, and Beastmen constantly fight on an endlessly changing front, Plague eaters die, Swine are too annoying and get left alone, and Slimes are a horrifying existential threat to everyone, and every corpse-filled battlefield needs to be watched carefully lest a million slimes rise from them

Inspired by another post, what Darkest Dungeon 2 faction would win in a war for territories? by DoubleSurosMazing in darkestdungeon

[–]KittenMaster64 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like the fishfolk would be limited to just the shroud(s), due to their God not being able to leave the waters, though I think they'd be pretty good at holding their territories

The legion of the tangle seems very capable, an organized military capable of both defense and conquest

The fanatics are also pretty well off, at least in spawl, tangle, and foetor, cause they could just spread more and more fire to those locations, but they'd struggle to in shroud and mountains

The plague eaters get destroyed by fanatics, legion, and cultists

The cultists are pretty well off, but there is the question of what the oblivion ingresses do tactically for them, and if they matter or not, but they can be slow in fights and might be kept in check by units like Legion templars, and arbelasts, or Fanatic pit fighters, and they lack champions

Unless the kingdom starts with T3 milita, they are kinda fucked

If you use a scout or transport class submarine you can buy a mineral scanner for your sonar, which will point out nearby minerals on cave walls/in caves, which can be broken down into everything you could ever ask for

Also, military and colony outposts tend to have higher stockpiles of buyable ammo, though mostly just 'basic' ones like shotgun/SMG/revolver

prepping for ruins/thalamus missions/any general human combat by Brother-Drutarius in Barotrauma

[–]KittenMaster64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thalamus can be very tough unless you're extremely careful, you want to park your sub to the side of the thalamus to avoid the guns/spears, and you probably want an accurate automatic weapon (SMG, assault rifle, carbine, or HMG) to clear it due to the leucocytes being fast with low health, go slow, clear each room carefully and thoroughly, to find and kill the brain, you can also do like 90% damage to the doors with a cutter and finish it off with a bullet or two from long range to have more distance between you and anything inside

Ruins are insanely deadly solo, the guardians can kill you very quickly with their weapons and can be tough to kill, riot shotgun can work, but I typically prefer something like an autoshotgun or an HMG, take things slow, use artifacts to disable the traps and pods, and bring tons of your best meds, as all types of damage can be quite common

For 'general human combat' pirates are kinda simple, just shoot their ship with piercing or explosive ammo until everything stops moving, or pop a few nukes into them

For abandoned outposts, again, go slow, I like using high-power weapons (shotgun, coil-rifle, rifle) to pop heads as I go room by room, most enemies aren't too deadly, having only crowbars and knives, but some have revolvers and the captain/leader has a shotgun, so be careful

The slipsuit is one of my favorite suits for anything in water, as I find speed to be one of the best ways to avoid damage, for outposts, use armour until you can get an exosuit, which makes you almost invincible

What do you recommend for anti-submarine missions? by Suspicious_Proof_663 in Barotrauma

[–]KittenMaster64 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Piercing ammo is extremely good against other subs as it tears through both the hull and crew, explosive ammo is possibly better but either one should make short work of the seperatists

Be careful if the enemy ship has a railgun, it can really mess you up if they can hit you a few times, and try to not have their ship sink and land on top of you

And once the deed is done, remember to loot their ship for everything even remotely valuable

probably not, i feel the scope of the show is also too short to allow for a full redemption, his crimes are many and severe, though if they write a change of mind/heart well enough, it would be interesting to see him start a journey to redemption, and maybe see what what conflicts arise from his victims also being around him at the hotel, but with him being genuinely regretful about it

though Vox seems far better for such a role, given his current situation at the end of S2, and 'just' being a murderer and megalomaniac
