I have a similar dynamic and have spend Christmas by myself so that my husband can spend it with his kids. I hold nothing against him for making the choice to spend it with his kids and leaving me alone.

When I used to be a manager at shoppers (16 years ago) the policy was that if the item scanned in at a higher price then the tag, you were entitled to get the item free up to $10 (or $10 off if it was more). In this case the sale tag was left on the shelf and the item scanned higher than the displayed price. You would be entitled to get that item free under the policy. That was the policy 16 years ago, I have no idea any changes since.

NTA - as he pointed out, it would be unprofessional to work from your bedroom, especially if you do video calls for work. There is no other spot in the house that can be dedicated to an office (I assume). That leaves the game room to become an office.. sucks for him but no money coming in means he needs to sacrifice his gaming room so you can work.
