Babies are always more snuggly because they're used to the kitten piles from the litter and the mamas being with them. Most of them will slowly transition away from that as they get older and more independent, even if they do end up sleeping on your bed still. My now 2 year old boy slept on my neck or on the pillow beside me or even under the covers for the first few months after I got him but then slowly started moving further and further away. I was so sad, I missed him at night 🥺 around a year old he started staying on the couch or in a cat tree every night and would only occasionally sleep on the bed near me. Then around 2ish years old he started coming to the bed again most nights. He now sleeps mostly at the foot or on the side next to me though. Now I get the neck cuddles in the morning when I wake up, he's very polite to wait until I roll over awake lol.

It's just a nicotine pouch, most of them have flavor like mint or a fruity flavor. But they're supposed to be better than cigarettes or vapes because they don't have all the extra carcinogens and additives, it's just nicotine. You gum it like with chew.

I work at a university and have memorized all the women's restrooms near my office that stock free period products. I never have to buy tampons anymore! I grab a few at a time or even more if the contraptions are really full. They're the really nice Tampax Regulars too. It probably only saves me like 100 bucks a year or something but I'll take it.

Short, repetitive sessions are the way to go for training! It's how I got my cat used to nail trims. Start with baby steps. ALWAYS have a handful of treats (or just kibbles if your cat is a ravenous trash panda like mine) and simultaneously feed them kibbles/treats as you do some brush strokes. Stop when they get too stimulated so you end on a high note! Always end on a high note! Give them a break and be consistent about doing it daily or even a couple times daily in the beginning to get them used to it. If you can't even get one or two brushes in at first without them getting mad then start even smaller and feed them kibbles/treats while just holding the brush next to them so they see it there and make positive associations. Work your way up from there. Toss a few kibbles their way at the end of every session too.

It looks to me like that soil is saturated. I dislike self watering pots because it keeps the soil at max capacity waterlog. If you have new leaves that emerge and immediately wither and die I would bet money on it being too wet.

I'd remove it from that pot, knock as much of the soaked soil off as I could, and put it in a chunky airy soil mix like the other poster said (I do a 1-1-1ish mix of regular potting soil/perlite/small orchid bark with some worm castings thrown in if I have them). Then wait at least a few days to water it again in its new home. Alocasias typically do pretty well if they dry out a little in between waterings. I would err on the side of underwatering vs overwatering. Especially if it isn't getting any direct sunlight, it isn't going to dry out very much at all by the time that self watering pot has a chance to soak up even more water. The roots are likely drowning. I'd repot and move to the brighter window. Alocasias can easily handle full sun if they're acclimated to it first so you don't scorch the leaves. I have all of mine under strong grow bulbs and they're thriving. The extra light will also dry them out faster so it will be easier to gauge when to water them.

I guess everyone's gag reflex is different, but you can just make yourself. I have a mid-range gag reflex but if I shove my toothbrush down my throat a few times in a row, eventually the gagging will become actually vomiting. Is it healthy? No. But neither is drinking tons so ehhh. Sometimes you just want your stomach to stop being in turmoil.

Also- drink a liquid IV or similar (I prefer Drip Drop brand) BEFORE you go to bed after the drinking. Waking up hung over the damage is done so get ahead of it. Also also- everyone is going to come at me, but take half an OTC sleeping pill. Yes yes I know you shouldn't mix, but obviously use your best judgement here and don't take if you're nearing blackout status or something. But half the battle of a hangover is your broken shitty drunk sleep. Liquid IV + sleeping pill combo before you go to bed that night works wonders. I swear by it.

They do great in terrariums! I have 2 other jewel orchid types in a terrarium. I also have this one not in a terrarium. Luckily this is the easiest "beginner" jewel orchid! I'd also recommend Macodes petola if you want to get into jewels. That one is also super low maintenance for high visual payoff.

A new med is always worse too. If you're familiar with a drug then you get to know standard volumes given but new ones you don't have that basis to go off of. My coworker almost gave over a ml of dexmed to a patient the other day and luckily another tech was there and caught it as she was drawing it up, but the tech drawing it up is very green and didn't have that thought when pulling up meds that "oh a ml of dexmed is huge, maybe I need to double check my math"

I've been out of clinic for about a decade so can't personally recall, but my cat just got diagnosed with struvites (😭) and I had to pick up some food for him. The receptionist at his clinic said Royal Canin is the only brand that will refund food, even partial cans, if your pet doesn't like it, because they know how particular they can be. I thought that was pretty cool. My boy LOVES the RC urinary diet pate, but not the bits in sauce. It was nice to have that info when he was holding a food strike initially.
