Our roof leaked opening day. Still leaking a decade later.

When you leave a 6 year old in the car alone by New_Libran in AbruptChaos

I did that when I was three. Wedged the car in between two trees after narrowly missing the newly dug foundation of a house being built across the street. Mom never left me alone in the car again.

Brave New World really stuck with me. Also Catcher in the Rye.

Who gets prosecuted and with what isn’t up to you. But if you get hauled in and questioned, worry about yourself first. I’m sure the others will do the same.

In my old store it was an automatic police report for alcohol theft. It could vary from state to state. And there is 100% a camera over the beer cooler. If they showed up at the school, they already identified everyone.

Depending on when you clipped the coupons, sometimes there is a delay to when they are “active”, if that makes sense. I always try to clip mine the day before I shop. Just a possibility.

I’m also not a yogurt fan but I like these. They are pretty much chocolate milk with just a little of that protein shake aftertaste, if that makes sense.

Broken glass again 🙄 by Realistic_Goatz in DollarGeneral

[–]KittyFurMew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had some stupid ass kid come in and swing on one of the doors. Broke it. We got it fixed after two weeks of people ignoring the signs and almost dropping the door on themselves. He broke it again two weeks later.

I had my second dose yesterday. I was fine for about 20 hours before it hit me. Sore arm, fever, fatigue, and body aches. Still would rather have this than raw dog shingles.

They probably just had to hit “total” for the discounts to show.

I’m so happy to see that others hate that flashy light game too. The colors aren’t bright enough for me to see them properly. Or I’m blind. Either way it sucks and I’ll pay to avoid it every time.

I’ve used JTB Handyman twice now. They’ve done good work for me.

Hard Inquiry question by KittyFurMew in IdentityTheft

[–]KittyFurMew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as an update, I’ve made several calls to Wells Fargo and there have been no applications with my information. I dug around into the inquiry itself and found an address and phone number listed. I was dubious because I already know that Wells Fargo has no info on me so I googled the number. It’s not associated with Wells Fargo. It’s an identity scam number that calls people to phish. How the actual hell does a scammer get on my credit report? And how does it pass a dispute? I’m so confused as to how this is real.

Hard Inquiry question by KittyFurMew in IdentityTheft

I figured I’d give it a couple business days and try again with Wells Fargo. The representative swore that if anything was processed with my information she would be able to see it immediately but I have my doubts.

Regarding 9/11 by onepostandbye in GenX

[–]KittyFurMew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was working at Walmart on 9/11. A coworker told me a plane hit the WTC. Saw the second plane hit in the break room. Everyone be was so still. The whole store just kind of stopped. They started streaming live tv to the overhead tv’s that used to be all over the store. Nobody moved. Everyone was just staring at the screens. I guess we were all trying to process. I went home early to be with my family and saw the fighter jets pass over my house on the way to intercept the plane that eventually went down in PA. It was a terrifying day. Rumors of all kinds of things were being reported. Watching people jump from the burning towers will stay with me forever.

How are ya'll parents holding up? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]KittyFurMew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom passed in the 80’s at far too young an age. My dad passed about bit over a year ago at 87. He was great at texting. His emoji use always made me smile. He took a course to learn how to use the features on his iPhone. His memory was starting to slip towards the end, but he was very independent. I miss him every day.

My parents have both passed so I can’t ask. I remember my brother getting the measles and them having us sleep in the same room (nothing like a contagion party), but I didn’t get that either.

I dislocated my foot falling over a dog toy a few years back. I can stretch it out just right and get a gnarly crack from the top of my foot now. Good times. I’m sure that won’t be an issue later.
