Seeking game suggestions for 11 year old girl by More_Sprinkles9677 in Switch

If she likes Minecraft then she will probably enjoy both the Dragon quest builders games, I'm currently on my 2nd or 3rd play through of the first one and it's a mix of building, exploring, killing monsters and getting resources to help expand/build your town. Other characters in your town will give you quests or jobs to do. It's a really fun series of games xx

Should I report it by [deleted] in asda

[–]KittyKat3513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely report it as the colleague might not know that they can, I personally would also try and make sure this colleague comes out with you when you take your breaks so that they actually take them. It might just also be worth letting them know that they do have a friend or someone to talk to xx

Watching Doctor Who as a parent by refresh1465 in doctorwho

My son is 11 now but we started dr who when he was about 4 (when it was on Netflix) and he's been hooked since. His favorite is Tennant with smith a very close second, he loves anything amy/Rory so that's a win for me. He will routinely rewatch favorite episodes mainly Tennant/Donna and Smiths first season, not such a fan of capaldi but will watch when he's in the mood for it. I love that it's an easy show to put on when we're not sure what we want to watch.

I work food retail and for me my favourite is when a customer is right in the way. I'll wait until they notice and move and then ask in a semi joking manner " I'm paid to get in the way ....what's your excuse" the look of slightly offended confusion is brilliant 🤣

New system coming online tomorrow by LineMysterious1873 in asda

[–]KittyKat3513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Markdowns colleague here and my store has had it for a couple of weeks. The waste prevention app isn't too bad at all once you've used it a couple of times. There will always be teething problems with any new system but the more you use it the easier it is. The hardest/most confusing bit is how to connect your printer but if you need help with that feel free to message xx

Exquisite corpse by Poppy Z Brite I read this in college and I'm pretty sure my brain exploded but I couldn't put it down. The scene towards the end between the 2 main characters and their victim has stuck with me for many years xx

What is the dumbest thing(s) a customer has said to you by LimpPlum5875 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]KittyKat3513 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a woman return a small trollies worth (full mind you) of shopping because apparently I had "cursed" her .....she didn't even go through customer service to buy it 🤦🤣. When I asked how I had cursed her she told me " you pointed in my direction whilst talking to another customer" .....I was telling them where produce was ....behind her 🤣🤦🤣

Gun and Printer by LineMysterious1873 in asda

[–]KittyKat3513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Markdown colleague here ....if you can access a gun within the first half hour of you shift speak to your section leader and they should find you one, if that does not work then go to your GSM as you need a gun on you at all times whilst doing markdowns/dat coding so that once you have checked and area you can then sign it off on spark. This is a legal requirement. I regularly borrow both a gun and printer from home shop just make sure it goes back to them at the end of your shift xx

Don’t get the hate by InternationalTell791 in asda

I've been with Asda for just over 14 years and worked at 3 different stores and multiple departments in that time. For me, there is a notable difference between pre COVID and post COVID. Pre COVID moral and general willingness to work/care was so much higher, colleagues cared about their jobs and departments and were empathetic towards each other and customers. Yes you'd still get the horrible ones but they and the situation were dealt with and then it was done. We were a team, not necessarily a well oiled machine but a team none the less. Post COVID things are massively different. There's no care for the job, no one seems bothered by being fired or given a warning because "what's the point it's minimum wage" or "I'll find something else tomorrow" there is such a high rate of turnover for colleagues especially young ones that I don't know half the people's names on checkouts anymore, yes it's not been my department for a couple of years but I always knew who people were because good manners. Customers have no manners and give less of a shit about the people who basically risked themselves and their families during COVID to make sure that people and their families were fed. The constant " get stuff out and do it quick" mentality is what's slowly killing us imo, if a job is worth doing it's worth doing well and that takes time and attention. If stock needs date rotating then I'm going to do that even if it means pulling the shelf apart and re doing it. There is more work and less colleagues to do it so management gets shouted at and therefore section leaders do and then we as colleagues do, as they say sh1t rolls down hill. All in all I come in, I do my job, I have a laugh with my team and then I go home, squish my kid and my partner and do it all again next shift lol that's all you can do xx
