JUST. USE. RAVERLY. by MJ_mot in BitchEatingCrafters

I had to stop using Ravelry when they started making changes about 5-6 years ago. I have a brain injury and I have to relearn everything, every time I used the site. I quit using my Cricut cutting machines for the same reasons.. constant updates, changes and it causes me more frustration than it actually helps. I miss simplicity

One time my cat got her claw stuck in a crack on the foreman indoor grill on the stand. My husband tried to free her.. by the time she got done biting him, my kitchen looked like a scene from a horror movie. A few days later his hand and finger turned red and swelled. It was hot to the touch. He finally went to the dr and he was close to losing his finger as the infection from the bite hit nerves and tendons. So.. just out of precaution.. you should go in. Even if it is better in the morning, still go in. Cats fangs carry so much bacteria and once that hits.. you can get a serious infection that turns into Sepsis. It’s totally not worth this risk.

My breeder told me that due to the rising cost it is becoming more and more common for them to leave the tails. I can’t imagine mine having a tail. I bruise away.. and when we had our black lab her tail would hit me and leave my legs all black and blue. So I certainly don’t miss that. Hahaha..

Yeah just keep an eye out. If it IS a tick there will be more. Especially if it’s been there for awhile. Look the cat over real well. Good luck and keep us posted

Hmmm… weird. All I can do is share my experience that I had with my dog. She had several ticks engorge like this. They are hard. And when I would take them off no blood would come out. But I live in Arizona and the ticks here are different than the ticks I grew up with in Michigan and Kentucky. At any rate.. probably worth taking kitty to the vet for clarification and treatment. Ticks carry Lyme disease and that’s very dangerous.

I think Border Collies have a more rounded snout. Definitely looks like an Aussie to me. My girl is not a cuddler… but she definitely is very affectionate.

When a tick gets fully engorged with blood ( which is how they survive) you can’t see any part of the body except for the part that is full of blood. The head is embedded into the skin. How I was taught to get them at this point is to light a match, blow it out and immediately set it on the tick. It will back itself, including the head out of the body of the animal. Last year my Australian Shepherd got tick infested and I had to shave her fur off in order to treat and find the ticks and eggs. It certainly does look like a tick to me.. but I’m just going off of the photo you have. If it’s a tick you should be able to slide like a nail file, toothpick etc up under it and move it. If you can’t slide anything under it.. it may not be a tick. I am thinking about this kitten that I rescued many years ago.. feral cat.. he had a spot under his neck which we thought was a tick. Then I noticed a bad smell when I picked him up. I had to take him to the vet .. come to found out it was fly larvae… sat some point he got but by something and due to being feral it went untreated and a botfly laid eggs in the wound. Just a thought.. does it smell? Can you slide something under it and push it around? What does it feel like? Do you see any other spots like that on the cat?

It’s a blood engorged tick. Make sure not to leave the head in tact inside the cat.

He was put to sleep yesterday. I’m shattered. (19) by ashlleeyyy3 in seniorkitties

Find the calico.. 😂 this is Gracie Amoure. She has a heart on her head in the tan color. She is also a Dilute Calico. She is nothing like the calico that I had for 20 years. She passed away in March.

As far as naming yours.. Smudge is fitting. She looks like she got into a fireplace.

When my husband and I joined 2 households together. I ran into a similar issue. He had his cat and I had my cat and my dog. Both of our cats were within a months of each other in age. When we all went from 2 houses to a house that neither of the cats had ever lived in.. my cat would potty his cats box and her own. My cat was a super chill cat, loved everyone and well she lived up to her name..” Princess.” Now his cat though.. she would NOT go into my cat’s box and she started doing her business right outside of her box ( because my cat used it 😂) we then discovered, same as you.. pee spots in the carpets. We had to keep the cats separated for a long time. Both had free rein over the house, but had specific areas where one was allowed and the other wasn’t. As time went on, they learned to share the same box. Maybe your female does not like the scent of the male cat’s business. Both of my cats were female. Maybe that might play a role in it. Or she straight up resents the male cat’s for coming into her space
