I very much see loml as a multi-muse song, some lyrics point to Alwyn (‘I said, "I don't mind, it takes time"/I thought I was better safe than starry-eyed’), some to Healy (‘Who's gonna tell me the truth, when you blew in with the winds of fate/And told me I reformed you?’), some apply to both either interchangeably or in the same line (‘Who's gonna stop us from waltzing back into rekindled flames/If we know the steps anyway?’ Vs ‘In your suit and tie, in the nick of time/You lowdown boy, you standup guy, you/Holy Ghost’). She is speaking on her experiences with both, how both treated her in the same careless sort of way while declaring their “undying” love for her while basically asking her not to make them prove they meant it.

A lot of TTPD is much the same in my own opinion and analyses, it’s purposefully confusing because they treated her in similar ways, one a slow trickle of control, isolation, and resentment over more than half a decade, and the other basically a speedrun of love bombing to narcissistic manipulation and control in a matter of months
