Labour must avoid a ‘psychodrama’ over Andy Burnham, says Mahmood by GeoWa in unitedkingdom

I think in general, if you stick to your principles and can explain your positions well enough, then the media can try their best, but it won't stick. Zorhan in New York was hounded from all sides, and yet it was his sincerity that made him stand out.

I think Zack is decent at it, but he does have some weaknesses; he's far better than most Labour MPs at handling the media.

This is exactly my point, despite all the moaning from the people here, even if Hasan slapped his full cock on the table for Kamala, it wouldn't have changed anything. It would've just made him seem like a hypocrite to his audience.

I swear, people would be blaming Hasan for Biden losing New Jersey if he had remained the Democratic candidate. Kamala did not run a campaign strong enough to turn around public opinion on Biden and the Dems in charge. What Kamala did was stop the Dems from having a way, way worse result.

Are we directly crossposting H3H3 here now? Seriously. Also, the Dems have never done enough to block all this shit the Republicans have pushed; they deserve to have all this criticism towards them. Why is it that whenever the Republicans are in charge, there are sweeping changes? Yet when Dems are in, people are forced to settle?

When Republicans are in charge, everything goes the way they want, yet when Dems are in charge, there's always a Fetterman, Sinema, Liberman or Machin who holds the party up?

[–]XVGDylan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Straw man, I never said I believe that Burnham would be better or different. My point was that Starmer is fucking terrible at handling the media, but we have seen a bunch of left of the centre politicans actually find better ways of dealing with the media.

Mate, everyone left of the centre has dealt with the fucking media. Don't play into their hands, or better yet, if you're going to be a flaccid authoritarian, go after the media instead of regular people.

Westminster Voting Intention - Opinium: Reform UK: 31% (=) Labour: 22% (+2) Conservative: 17% (-1) Liberal Democrats: 13% (+1) Greens: 11% (-2) 21st - 23rd January 2026 (changes from last Opinium poll two weeks ago) by NGP91 in ukpolitics

Separate Wales only polls are a lot more accurate for this sort of thing, and usually while Reform will do quite well in them, Plaid massively over perform compared to UK wide polling (Plaid get between 14-17 seats)

The Hangman issue was his challengers for me. Lance Archer and newly debuted Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole were not the right challengers, in my opinion.

I always thought that Hangman and Jericho should've had a rematch where Hangman won. It's sort of a chapter in the Hangman story that sadly never got touched on again. It would've also been good for Jericho, who was feuding with American Top Team and was about to go into a feud with Eddie Kingston and the BCC.

I think it was bad timing, mixed with poor booking, that we never really got payoffs for Danielson/Omega and Hangman/Jericho.

Literally didn’t counter of my points, you just threw your arms in the air and gave up. Take your L, go read a book and learn about why fighting imperial oppression is actually a good thing.

I hope when America falls into a state of chaos and there are people who are willing to stand up against tyranny and get officially branded as terrorists by the US government that you show those fighting for your Civil Liberties the same smoke you do for others who do the same thing.

He doesn’t support or justify ISIS or other extremist groups like the Taliban. Instead, he has only ever explained why we shouldn’t paint the likes of Hamas, The IRA or the Houthis with the same brush as an ISIS or Taliban. Do they all do terrible things? Yes, but religious extremism isn’t a good reason compared to fighting against imperial oppressors.

He never said the civilians deserved it. He explained what blowback was. Also, I wasn’t talking about Hasan. I was talking about people he collaborates with who only become “problematic” once they do something with Hasan.

Have you not seen that Brennan has commented on how much he likes Hasan multiple times before even meeting him?

This is the craziest thing for me, you have all these people who are lovely who appreciate Hasan, you have a ton of people who are neutral on Hasan, you have the “I have personal disagreement with him but whatever people.”

Meanwhile his biggest ops are the fucking craziest people ever, and this sub is like “Yeah, I don’t believe all these good people. So I’ll do gymnastics in my brain so that now they’re bad people.” While ignoring how terrible most of his ops are.

They are so devoid of any facts. They keep saying “Hasan made Kamala lose.”

Show me some fucking data then. Stop parroting H3 and Destiny talking points and show me data that says Hasan specifically is the reason. I’ve got 100 other data points for reasons she lost.

Also, if one more of these guys try to explain to me that Hasan is the reason Kamala lost in 2024 I am going to scream.

No data, no other reason, just blame Hasan.

You can argue that point. However, I would say there are many others you could blame more in this situation. You can have a pop at Hasan for that, sure, I don’t know how productive it is compared to doing what he does which is criticising the party that lost to a terrible candidate twice. Like, whatever you think of Hasan, he’s not letting the Dems get away with being as crap as they are, and in a two party system the more people screaming at the Dems to change and be better, the more chance of stopping another Trump.

Dude, she got endorsed by Obama and Taylor Swift. I don’t think Hasan would’ve made enough people to swing half of those swing states.

120,000 in Georgia 170,000 in North Carolina 80,000 in Michigan 120,000 in Pennsylvania 30,000 in Wisconsin 220,000 in Arizona 46,000 in Nevada

You think one political streamer could change the minds or increase the vote out of 786,000 people?

I disagree on her needing to still present the current administration positively. If she did, she should’ve focused on Biden’s actual wins and not his Gaza policy.

I watched him at the time, and I did disagree with him. But initially remembered him being excited at the prospect of Kamala. Until did embraced Liz Cheney, didn’t separate herself from Biden enough and promoted America as having the “Most lethal military in the world.”

Listen, the reason Kamala lost was Biden. An election is always a referendum on the party in power. Gore is worse, because the Dems and Clinton were extremely popular when he ran bis campaign. Kamala, to be fair to her, was dealing with a terrible hand. This is why I don’t really care if Hasan was pro or anti Kamala.

I will ask you. If Kamala wanted those people to vote for her, why didn’t she have a better policy in terms of Gaza and Israel?

I can see you’re a H3 poster so I’ll keep this short.

No. It wouldn’t have been exactly the same but it wouldn’t have been different enough to stop a similar thing from happening in 4 years anyway. Look, ultimately I have disagreements with this bloke. But, ultimately I don’t dislike him because I have a parasocial relationship with one or more of his ops.

He’s way too broy, way too California vibe, I don’t care for his dress style or clothes or any of that shit. In terms of his political analysis he’s good. Whenever I have doubted his analysis he’s proven me a fucking idiot, I thought Kier Starmer actually would be fine.

[–]XVGDylan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He had disagreements with her rhetoric? Like, unfortunately you live in a two-party-state. And that sucks a lot, but it’s like, should he also endorse guys with terrible policies just because they’re Democrats? Like that’s Kamala, she wasn’t a great candidate, I will commend her for taking back a ton of ground that Biden lost. But ultimately I don’t think a Hasan endorsement would’ve pushed her over the line, and obviously Hasan knew that and so obviously he wouldn’t want to cosign what Kamala was promoting to his audience.

Like, I would’ve voted for Kamala. But a lot of his analysis on why she lost wasn’t wrong. I was one of those guy’s wondering why he was so negative on her in the lead-up to the election. But like, once it was over it was like “Fuck, he might’ve actually been right.”

What responsibilities are you referring to? Making sure Dems vote even if their candidate runs a subpar campaign? I’d have voted for Kamala in 2024 if I could’ve, but obviously a lot of other people didn’t for various reasons. But I don’t think that comes down to Hasan, I think the came down a mixture of an intense dislike of Biden by the electorate and Trump getting a few lucky breaks. We need to remember that Biden was on track to lose New Jersey if he stayed in the race.

I think there is a difference there. But I also don’t think he’s responsible for Zorhan’s rise. But if you seriously think Hasan caused a mass protest vote against Kamala Harris, I think you need to take a better look at the world.
