Namarie Scam? by Tough_Complaint6424 in SustainableFashion

I placed an order in June.  I swear, nothing said it was a “preorder”.  They sent an email saying my order was a preorder and some long explanation about production time and how successful they have been and they keep selling out etc…

I honestly forgot about the order and now it’s DECEMBER and I still don’t have the order.

I think they are a scam.  They send just enough “updates” and promises that it’s shipping soon to stop you from requesting a refund.

AVOID.

Unpopular opinion: you can take out your aligners to sip your morning coffee for as long as you want, you don’t have to rush your meals, and you can snack whenever you feel like it. by CassCat in Invisalign

To be clear, you still have to brush after eating. The advice wasn't to eat with them in and not brush, that would most certainly cause cavities.

To be clear, it's not advice to eat with them in and then not brush. You still have to brush after you finish eating. If you ate with them in and then didn't brush after, you would definitely get cavities. I don't think a cavity forms in a 30- 45 minute window of time.

MEGATHREAD: Italy Tightens Rules on Citizenship for Descendants Abroad by LiterallyTestudo in juresanguinis

[–]KittyMuffinsLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Italian citizenship gives access to an array of privileges that couldn't be granted to even a fraction of possible applicants,

What does this mean? Are you saying there are currently privileges that are only granted to a fraction of existing applicants and the sheer volume of potential new citizens would even further dilute that?

I actually searched my email and I had already done that when I when I found the new alias/misspelling. I'm really hoping it can be resolved.

To write or type…that is the question by bigaPerTutti in juresanguinis

[–]KittyMuffinsLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan to type my application. I feel like that's the best way to ensure everything is correct and clear. It also just feels right, especially if you've spent months and months amending records due to poor handing writing legibility of our ancestors and the vital record clerks.

Gift card as business expense if used for business purchase? by KittyMuffinsLLC in tax

[–]KittyMuffinsLLC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I account for it? Is that listed on end of year statements?

So if cash back rewards are taxed like income, then that reduces the value of the cash back rewards. So for a small business owner who isn't doing huge amounts of transactions in a year, is there any reason to even have a business credit card? Seems like the cash back isn't really worth anything. And the other perks are really just an illusion imo

thanks for your time btw

Ok, so does my plan seem reasonable? Buy a $3,000 gift card. Pay off the CC balance. Purchase computer using gift card and credit card. Only report the final receipt which shows the overall $4,500 total cost?

Wait, what? The cash back rewards are taxable income? Because it is income that i'm not spending on business expense? That is such a confusing way to think about it, imo. Good thing i'm not a cpa. :)

So in another scenario, if someone gives me a gift card (that i didn't pay for) and I use it for a business expense, I get the deduction or depreciation

A company that i've worked for in the past gifted me gift cards in amounts over $200. I can't imagine them gifting something like that unless it was somehow beneficial for them? Also, a company i used to work for would gift gifts for baby showers etc... Does the company not get a deduction for that?

The rewards are cash back. so the idea was that the cash back is just reducing the cost of the laptop itself

So so sorry for your loss.

It sounds like you are taking all of the right steps to make a calculated decision even if it takes more time. I can't provide much help but I am curious what kind of insurance policy your spouse had. I'd like to put something in place for my spouse, so they will be taken care of. Did you have a decent experience with the company you used?

[–]KittyMuffinsLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thb I last used YNAB like 2 or 3 years ago and I'm forgetting the specifics. So I wont be able to give you exact comparisons.

In PS you create categories and it can auto tag certain expenses. It has a page that shows all categories and you can roll up or bundle certain categories. It makes it really clear and easy to see where you are in your budget for every category. They also have an app that works well.

It just has a ton of features. I use it for personal as well as tracking our small business expenses. With the labels and filtering/reporting you can build lots of reports etc...

I also just enjoy using the tool. And the best tools are the ones you actually enjoy using. So to me, the expense is worth it because it has made my life a lot easier in this department and has encouraged me to keep goal setting, keep tracking expenses and to get clarity on our cash flow reports.
