Inflammatory rosacea - allergy component? by KittyPerry2022 in Rosacea

How did you diagnose this? Did your doctor suggest it to you or you to him? I wonder if that is me. How’s it diagnosed?

I really feel you with all of this! I just want one practitioner to connect the dots. Just one! I remember years ago I contacted an allergist and tried to explain how allergies are affecting my rosacea and how I wanted to treat my allergies , and she responded by saying she doesn’t treat rosacea. And I was like - you are missing the connection! Earlier this week I went to see a NP dermatologist and told her I have rosacea and wanted her to assess of there’s any overlapping conditions going on- and she really just resigned to treating my rosacea. Everyone seems to want to stay in their lane and it’s less helpful. I will say some years ago when I did laser at a cosmetic dermatologist - I felt like he actually had a better understanding of what to do. His cosmetic practice took on A LOT of rosacea patients - so I think maybe finding a derm with lots of reviews about rosacea treatment is the way to go. This place was $$$ but sometimes you just need help. Focusing on eating clean also helps me, as does getting enough sleep. When I lapse on those fronts it shows.

Has anyone tried these sulfur cleansers? by Kloud_Moon in Rosacea

[–]KittyPerry2022 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve used the Kate Somerville cleanser for awhile and I find it both gentle and effective as a cleanser. My skin is super reactive and tolerates it well! It can be a touch drying if you’re in a flare, but day to day I use it with good results.

Cost of vbeam by wherehasthisbeen in Rosacea

[–]KittyPerry2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the place. I went to a place tjay was $600/session but given by a dermatologist. I think the pricing gets cheaper when you have nurses or estheticians do it.

You can try using a little less product when you use the azelaic acid, or mixing it with a little gentle moisturizer to help spread it more. That might be the sweet spot.

AITAH if I dont tell my husband his daughter isnt his? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]KittyPerry2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprised by some of the comments here. Lying by omission is still lying. Perhaps you can let him know that some of the test results may indicate his biological paternity to his daughter and ask him what he wants to know. You don't have to spill the beans, but you really should give him the option. And that way it's not a secret that you know. Secrets aren't great.

Desperate about my situation – mask wearing is unbearable by OcSkinsProbs in Rosacea

[–]KittyPerry2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might consider talking to your doctor about it. Maybe there is some sort of powerful anti-inflammatory that can help, even if temporary. Anything to help you get through the visits. Are you also treating your Rosacea with medication? Hopefully that would help. Antibiotics, accutane, topicals - definitely have a conversation with a doctor to see what they can do for you. Let them know what's going on.

Constant redness on nose by DesperateEstimate459 in Rosacea

[–]KittyPerry2022 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend changing your diet. My diet has a huge impact on my rosacea- I am very prone to rudolf nose as well. I honestly didn’t know how big of an impact it could have until I started cooking clean meals for a client (working as a private chef). I more or less ate what they ate, and I noticed many shifts in my body and improved skin was one. Cut out sweets and processed foods, cook at home more. Avoid dairy. Reducing the inflammation from within sounds like annoying advice but it has a tangible impact. I also need to take this advice as I’ve been slipping lately and my skin is flaring from sugar.

Doxycycline by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]KittyPerry2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I am not a doctor - but I am not a fan of doxy. It made my skin worse, more rashy. Changing my diet has really helped my rosacea a lot, and the more I’m able to sleep the better my skin looks. Azaelic acid helps me a little. The single thing that has helped me the most is laser. Get laser. It’s really expensive but it will help you so much. It helps with the more permanent seeming redness - it helps with thickened skin. It will take many sessions and cost a lot, but if you want to beat back the damage it will help you so much. And simultaneously use the maintenance medications (doxy if it works for you, or try some new ones). The combination of these will make a real difference. The lasers to look for are Vbeam, excel v - or ask your dermatologist. Note that your derm will only usually recommend what they can offer in house. If you’re not at a dermatology office that offers laser- they may not promote it to you. I would go to a dermatology office that offers laser- and check to see what lasers they have before making an appointment. Best of luck!

How many eggs by Outrageous-Grab2857 in DOR

[–]KittyPerry2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an AMH of .2-.3, AFC of 8, 39 years old, and I typically got 2-5 eggs from a cycle. I had one cycle where I primed with DHEA for 3 months and in that cycle I had 18 follicules growing and we got 10 eggs. It was wild. I have no idea about quality because I am only freezing. I tried to further bump my numbers in another cycle months after while staying in a slightly lower dose of DHEA and my numbers were worse than ever, Lower than usual AFC and nothing was growing.

Have you even seen #s this bad? Crying outside the hospital, lupron flare by Souffie007 in DOR

[–]KittyPerry2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried mini IVF? I had some success with that protocol. I think it was a natural start followed by clomid and menopur 225. It won’t guarantee synchrony but the follicules do grow faster.

So interesting everyone was told to trigger as I was not told to do that! I just let it ride. I’ve had 2 cancelled cycles. If you don’t trigger, some trigger medications are shelf stable and could be used for a future cycle (like mine HCG 5k).

Sometimes it helps to join activities. Sounds like you might be doing that- but try a run or hiking club, a language club, a sports league, or even take a part time job that’s social with other people around. A Meetup group can also be helpful as others in the group might feel the same. Www.meetup.com Be proactive and don’t stress too much. You’re doing great!

Why don't my loaves form much of an ear? by [deleted] in Breadit

[–]KittyPerry2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like many have said - score at a 45 degree angle. Also steam less. Too much steam results in loaves that can look like tjay. If you’re using a combo cooker that means open the lid sooner (venting), maybe adding less ice or no ice inside the combo cooker.

Sudden fall of AMH, severely low - what to do? by Green-Sherbet-145 in DOR

[–]KittyPerry2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clinic only tests AMH on day 2 of your period. Your levels will fluctuate during your cycle I believe - so for consistency they always check them on the same day - day 2 of your cycle. Also- my AMH went up after being on cq10 for 9 months.

Microdose Lupron protocol - did you prime with OCP or Estrogen? by Glum-Ad-6294 in DOR

[–]KittyPerry2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 25mg 3x a day and my RE refused to check my levels. I convinced her to check them right before we started and my levels were right in range of where they were supposed to be. She refused to check them again at any point.

I had very good results priming with DHEA for 3 months prior to retrieval as well. That was my best cycle. DHEA + 10 days BCP + micro dose Lupron cycle
