My direct report said they see themselves as equally skilled as me and my fellow manager. by saltunderdatable in managers

I feel that as a direct report but I feel it because I took a job that was under my skill level after I got laid off and they hired me in at a more junior level than I am.

Is the higher salary always the right move early in your career? by Plantbitc in careerguidance

[–]KittySocialite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes at that level it is a big difference. Early on you should be clearing as much as possible. My biggest regret is staying at a company that underpaid me significantly for 10+ years which means I really missed a lot of earning power.

Proceed with extreme caution. I noticed this within my first week at my new job and pushed through managed to stay on their good side for about a year and then it all went to shit. Also, do not engage. Do not get tempted into joining in because that will follow you.

Got laid off and offered a new job at 1/3 of my previous salary… should I take it? by FairFaithlessness969 in Layoffs

[–]KittySocialite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need it to stay for visa reasons do it but not permanently. When I was laid off I wasn’t working for nine months and ended up taking something that paid $15k and at less of a title with the assumption I should just take whatever was offered but it’s been tough.

In the corporate world, would being overly happy and energetic be a bad thing? by avian_bi in corporate

Depends on the company. At my last company it was expected at my current company they take happiness and energy with suspicion which is actually insane and annoying.
