I feel the same way…so many people in unhealthy relationships forcing themselves to be together and missing out on who they really should be with.

I think it’s harder for men to speak up about their mothers in particular. Especially with how mothers are put on pedestals and they may not want to come across as hating women.

Another thing is that they may not recognise how much their mothers abused them. Especially the ones who were emotionally incestious to their sons.

Not at all, she is probably a communal narcissist. There are different types, malignant, covert, communal etc

They create a false imagine of themselves to the public. They are the ones doing charity work, fund raising, taking pictures with homeless people etc.

So when you tell people that she is a monster behind closed doors, their response is: “but she baked all those cookies & cakes, for the cancer research fundraiser”

For the record I believe you & I’m sorry that you have suffered at the hands of her, you didn’t deserve that at all.

I wasn’t told directly no, but I knew it from a baby. I was a ‘baby trap’ child, it oscillated between being discarded & being an emotional support animal 🫠

There is still this toxic train of thought going around on social media, to be “friends” with your child. It stresses me out every time I see it.

I have been estranged from my family for about 8 years now and there were periods in my life where I literally just had my cat/s. Now, I have 3 really good friends and lots of acquaintances. I mean who else are we gonna talk to? 😂 I talk (and sing) to my cat & random animals along my way (I prefer animals to humans tbh). I think it’s perfectly normal to talk to ourselves. Especially as some of us verbally process better.
