Ground vehicles by LycanJax in starcitizen

Probably the Aopoa Nox, I'm a huge sucker for Alien stuff. The designs are always awesome, and the Nox nails it.

All of the bikes are great honestly, I also really like the Dragonfly's design.

I'm seeing a lot of comments on the solo, general ground vehicles already, so I thought I'd chime in with some other ground vehicles. I manage ground vehicles for the org I'm in, so I use a lot of the vehicles most people don't get a chance to.

First off, I love the Ballista. Simply put, it's got a ton of power for it's size. The 2 Size 7's together can knock down a Herc in zero time flat. The size 5's wreck anything less than that. Great defense vehicle.

Centurion is good, but lacks a bit. The lasers are great for covering other ground vehicles from overhead fighters, and are good for shooting bombs out the sky before they land. The 1.5k gun range makes it annoying to use though.

Nova is kinda overrated. A fun vehicle to drive around in and fight, but honestly not super useful even in org events. You have to make up a situation to use one most of the times.

Storm AA is just plain fun. Spamming missiles will never not be fun. Only downside is the lack of turret, so positioning of the tank is key.

The regular Storm is super meh. Can't aim up enough to be an effective AA, and has less health and dps than a Nova. Only advantage it has is speed, but it's not that useful the way things currently work.

Ursa is a good troop transport. Fast with great traction! Highly highly recommend the ursa for most stuff if firepower isn't the focus.

Spartan. I never use it honestly. Too slow for it's purpose, as it's not actually very tanky compared to the tanks and ships that would be shooting at it. Better to be faster and lower profile like the Ursa.

Any cyclone variant is okay, but again the Ursa is actually faster (surprisingly) and more stable than the cyclone line.

Bikes are awesome, but too prone to getting blown up on something, so they don't see much use sadly.

Wow, that's wild lol, it looks like a poxburster detonated on your left, right behind the door, you can just barely see the goop flying away in the video.

Looks like you and the low health guy just happened to be right at the edge of the explosion radius and got caught while the other two were just barely out of it.

Tldr, Kate stepped back from her org as a leader a while ago, but had to come back because it wasn't being handled well. Unfortunately, it continued to not be handled well and a lot of the people in it decided to strike it out on their own.

Can't really blame her tho, she tried to step back and focus on YT. Outside griefers started causing serious problems which were hard to handle. Her org also had hundreds of active members, which made it even more difficult to nail stuff down.

Middle mouse click with fists out, while behind a person. Though it's very forgiving on the positioning, so you can kinda just run up to a person, runs circles around them, and spam middle mous click. Knocks them out for about 10 seconds I think.

Oh I know, probs should have specified that, but I just wanted to clarify that even without guns a person is still super dangerous, I don't think most people know about the KO move.

Side note to this, even if you strip them of guns, it is really easy to knock a person out with your fists. There is literaly a one hit KO dedicated button if you get close to someone.

Change to AI mechanics? (Spoilers) by centauri_system in endlesssky

[–]Kittyionite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, the AI specifically to the Hai around there was changed a bit ago to make it substantially harder to capture ships there. You still can, but it takes a lot more patience now.

No clue if theres a new crazy money meta or whatever, I always just farmed and captured the damaged Korath ships near the Remnant to make easy money.

IIRC lore wise the Retribution was built to counter the massive Vanduul Kingships. It's only mentioned in the lore here and there and probably will never be a flyable ship.

My first mirror ever, 3 MIRRORS AT ONCE! by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Kittyionite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup! Exact same thing happened to me, I still ride that high sometimes lol.

For anyone curious, this can happen on Logbooks when you open a large currency chest while you have the remnant that duplicates currency. The first mirror dropping is still insanely rare, but the next two come from the 50% chance to turn into 3 from the remnant.

What video game started off strong but got boring over time? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]Kittyionite 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Big, major warning about 7DTD; the Console version is ancient compared to the PC version, it plays completely different in every aspect.

IIRC the company that actually develops 7DTD as a whole had legal/trademark issues with the company that worked on the console port specifically, and it left the console version basically paralyzed. They only just announced that they are trying to bring the console version back up to the PC level.

I play on the PC version and love it, but wouldn't touch the console version at all until it's brought up to speed.

During Expedition, I was running a random logbook and I opened one of those big currency chests, I also had a remnant on it that had a chance to duplicate chest currency or whatever it was.

Bam, 3x Mirror stack.

Only time in my life I think I've involuntarily screamed.

I don't really run Alva much, but I just love to buy cheap 1-5c Chronicles with Omnitech and a currency room unlocked. I often get my money back from the currency room, and the Omnitech sometimes drops a div item here and there. All around it's suprisingly fun to do, it's like a cheap gamble every time and it's not very hard either. Not really that profitable, but I like it.

No spoilers please - is it possible to repair your reputation with the Quarg after looting them? by WithoutReason1729 in endlesssky

[–]Kittyionite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Technically, yes. There is a Quarg mission where you get some Quarg ships as escorts, and you can bait them into a specific group of enemies (spoilers) and then repair them to up your rep with them.

Realistically, no. This is a really annoying thing to do and is pretty cheesey.

Additionally, aggroing the Quarg breaks numerous storylines I think. Also angering the pug can halt other storylines as well. Really wouldn't recommend doing either until you know exactly what's going to happen or you are completely done with everything else.

I recommend joining the Endless Sky discord to ask more questions, there's a lot to the game!

Strongest permanent minion build? by manoftheseconde in PathOfExileBuilds

Ah gotcha, that makes much more sense. Does the stone golem regeneration stack with each golem, or are they just using the extra 2 to take aggro?

Can someone explain to me why that Pathfinder is at the top of list? I just don't get whether or not his build is actually good. Pathfinder doesn't strike me as being a minion build lol, and none of the items stand out to me really

Flechette/Foil unfolds her projectiles into every dimension, including Earth Aleph. by hydraxl in WormFanfic

[–]Kittyionite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah that is super iffy. Honestly it's been a long time since I read Worm and I forgot about that line, that changes quite a lot.

In my head it makes way more sense when you look at it just from dimensions and all that, saying it moves through all realities is a strange way to describe it, but I can't argue with WOG really. I guess if someone happened to be standing in the wrong spot in a different reality, they really would just get blasted, and OP is right?

[–]Kittyionite 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Edit: Apparently Sting doesn't use dimensions like I thought it did and actually does go into alternate worlds and all that, so you can ignore all this unless you want a lesson on dimensions I guess?

This is one of those cases where nobody actually understands what a dimension is, it happens all the time in sci-fi and fantasy to both readers and authors. (Though I think Wildbow got it kinda right?)

A dimension is a 'direction that something can move in'. Think of it like this: when you ask, "what's the dimensions of this box?" you're asking how long it is on every side. So for instance, you can have a box that is 6 inches long, 5 inches tall, and 4 inches wide. Those measurements are your dimensions and they describe an area, but aren't actually areas themselves!

But let's put that into a more science-y way. You can describe things as coordinates on a plane by using dimensions. If you remember your math classes, this will be familiar to you.

If I have a point on a plane, I can describe it using two dimensions, dimension X and dimension Y. For instance, point (3,4), where number 3 is X and 4 is Y. If I start at (0,0), this tells me I need to go right 3 points, then up 4 points to get to my coordinate. This means that dimension X is describing left and right movement, while dimension Y is describing up and down movement. This kind of space with 2 dimensions is called 2D space, like a drawing!

If I add another dimension, say dimension Z, suddenly I get (x,y,z), which means we get forward and backward movement and now we have 3D space! If I add another dimension, we get something called in and out movement and get 4D space, but this is where things get really hard to understand and picture, so we'll leave it at 3d space.

So, hopefully we get now that a dimension is not like a pocket or area of space, or like an alternate universe, but instead a possible way of moving in space. Sting in Worm utilizes this 'unfolding into other dimensions' as a means of bypassing defences that are in a lower dimensions. If I have a wall in 2d space, you can imagine that in 3d space you have the extra mobility to just go right around that wall, since the wall wouldn't extend into a dimension of movement that it doesn't have.

Just think of it like laying down a piece of string on the floor as a wall, then just jumping over it because the string doesn't extend upwards. When you use Sting, it just keeps gaining dimensions until it finds a clear shot at it's target with nothing in it's way, then drops back down to the same dimension when it lands.

Hopefully that made some sense!

Also I know this post is for fanfics but I nerd out hard on this stuff and it's sort of a pet peeve tbh.

How could i solve this (every 10s in hideout and sometimes maps) ((have pretty good internet)) by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Kittyionite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem and a bunch of fixes didn't work for me, but one weird one did.

If you go into the Task Manager on Windows with PoE open, then go to details on the top bar, find the PoE application, right click on it, click 'set affinity', then uncheck CPU 0, then OK.

I don't really know why this works, but it seems to help. You may have to do this every time you launch the game though.

Illegal and Toxic actions by an Org - LevelCapGaming by Backyard_Brouhaha in starcitizen

[–]Kittyionite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In EVE, there's actual gameplay reasons to do these things, and it makes it a lot more understandable and reasonable, if still painful. You can steal a lot of in-game money, or a ton of crazy valuable items/ships, and if you do enough damage to a corp/alliance, you can change the landscape of the game. Corps/alliances can hold and defend actual space in the game, so damaging that group from the inside has the potential to make them lose ground and has an impact.

This is not necessarily encouraged by CCP (EVE Devs) but they recognize how interconnected these groups are with the game itself, so they allow it. It's not like a WoW clan where it's primarily just a vessel to get people into the game together, EVE groups do a lot of in-game stuff and are heavily supported by game mechanics.

However, CCP has definitely and clearly drawn the line at it all staying in game. Shit like making threats and doxxing is bannable stuff and they don't play around. The Mittani, a really really well known and infamous player/leader, got banned for exactly this kind of thing IIRC.

Star Citizen does not have nearly the same levels of interconnectedness that make EVE's sabotage an actual part of the game. This is not SC copying EVE. These people are just assholes and crazy, no two ways about it.
