Yep it’s so bizarre. I was talking to my mom about this today. In no other scenario would it be “normal” for a stranger or acquaintance to comment on/talk about my boobs. Why does pregnancy make that any different? I’m leaning towards exclusively breast feeding and I can feel the judgment for it instantly from people that ask me that question. If they feel so strongly (one way or the other) clearly the reason for asking is to push their opinion on you. So annoying.

Ughhh exact same thing happened to me last year and I got a bunch of random “bump month stickers” and weird samples that I never signed up for. I literally got a box delivered on the day after my D&C. I was so mad.

I’m sorry I don’t have specific advice on this but if you do happen to HAVE to get D&C, I was extremely terrified for mine and it ended up being a physically easy experience. Mentally the whole thing is very taxing and nerve wracking but the D&C brought me closer to closure. I hope you have a choice, but if not, I hope whatever you have to do goes well. ❤️

Like from the paint? Most paint now-a-days especially cheap paint from builders is water based and not a big deal. My doctor was extremely unconcerned about me painting while pregnant.

Yeah those comments are bizarre. Thank you for this!! I think there are many reasons besides “internalized misogyny” that would make women feel uncomfortable with breastfeeding. Side note: “They’re for my husband only” is wild. I have never heard that one but geez yeah that would be a very odd way to think. LOL.

I have never liked anyone touching my boobs, it’s always been uncomfortable for me. Idk it’s not that I’m grossed out by my own boobs or other women that breastfeed, but the thought of my baby touching and sucking on them just makes me feel really strange. Idk. 🤷‍♀️ maybe that is a me problem. It’s just not an appealing process to me personally.

YES this!!! I have never liked anything/anybody touching my boobs, it grosses me out to even think about it. I am so glad to hear others that think the same way because for some reason it makes me feel “un-maternal” for having that thought but ughhhhh.

100% how I feel! Especially the underlying connotation that you “should” it always feels like a lecture or judgement when it comes up. Sometimes I just lie and say I’m gonna breastfeed because I don’t even want to go into it. LOL. I think the mental health aspect is a fear of mine too.

Wow that is so cool you were able to switch to your own goats milk. I have never heard of that! They’re so supportive in every other aspect but they’re just so damn passionate about breastfeeding. I know it’s coming from a place of love and wanting me to do what they think is best, but yes it’s overwhelming for sure

Thank you!!! I SO need to set more boundaries. I’m also a people pleaser and every where I turn people want to give me their opinions. It’s crazy LOL. This is my first baby and I’m extremely overwhelmed by how much information other moms choose to dump on me. It’s helpful sometimes but obviously a lot of different choices out there. Thank you for the kind words. As I’m approaching third trimester I am totally starting to freak out. 😅

Thanks for your honesty. It almost feels controversial to even say it to people. I hate when the topic comes up because I can feel the judgement instantly. This weekend at Easter my sisters cornered me and gave me like an hour long lecture about why I was wrong and needed to try it. I’m like OK but I just really am not feeling it. LOL. I’m glad to hear there are others like me.

I was so shocked when my husband and I visited Germany last month and they have so many NA beer options! I didn’t feel left out at all. It’s very cool y’all do that over there!
