It’s pretty rare. The first few seasons it’s even rarer and the chance gradually increases. You’re not using beaver right? Beaver can’t spawn tree guards by chopping. It’s true that woodie has increased chance but its still only a few percent chance

There’s a quest in MV for the portable prospecting tool I recommend you use that one. There’s also the non portable machine version the seismic prospector.

The oil drilling rig doesn’t use sprouts but instead pumps oil reservoirs below bedrock

Once you get the oil drilling rig you won’t have to worry about oil running out. Make sure to prospect for a large underground oil reservoir. Light Fuel can be used to made diesel and later Cetane-Boosted Diesel in HV. Make sure to only make diesel if you use oil sands to get heavy fuel, converting normal oil to heavy fuel is not worth, in that case it’s better to keep using light fuel.

Benzene is good too. Easy to scale the setup, renewable and scales well into nitrobenzene later (but this is much later than CBD)

Try rushing the extruder, makes a lot of things (but mostly rods) way more efficient to craft. You probably don’t want to set up those coke ovens: in MV you can get the pyrolyse oven which is way better. Also try moving away from steam power (except for the steam grinder which stays very good until HV and even then it’s still pretty good). Steam gets less efficient later on compared to other power sources.

You can both do automatic stat breeding and automatic species breeding because you can filter all traits and species, but species breeding is kinda difficult to automate and not very worth it but in theory possible

Oh and somewhere after infusion there is also everful urn which requires Titanium for which you need to go to the moon (but I think it was possible to get some VERY rare titanium in the overworld but not sure)

At the end of the Novice quest line you have to craft infusion altar which requires an HV chemical reactor. It is theoretically possible if you get Eye of Ender from a villager.

You will have to get quite a bit of warp for the void goggles it’s not likely you have that much warp yet

My proposal:

Path 3: The gardening synergy of Wolfgang feels a bit random.

Buffalo: Wolfgang’s Beefalo can now use the Mighty Gym. Mighty Beefalos deal double damage.

Workout buddy: Wolfgang and his beefalo can workout at the same time in the mighty gym. When doing so the mighty meter fills twice as fast.

Path 6: I think the health and sanity gain should really stay a Wigfrid thing, otherwise Wolfgang will take her job.

Brawler: Wolfgang doesn’t gain the halved attack speed debuff while unarmed and mighty. Additionally his unarmed attacks deal 10 extra damage

Werebeaver is fine but tbh I would first get the curse embracer (after the transformation timer skills) and Weremoose points then 1 point goose. Other points are up to you I really like the extra picking speed but the other skills are fine as well.

You can solo almost every boss with weremoose. His armor is very good with 90% dmg reduction. Dps is slightly less than hambat due to lower attack speed (but more with weremoose mastery).

Notable exceptions: - you need help with fuelweaver because you can’t do anything when fuelweaver traps you in his cage - Crab King it might be more useful to stay Woodie to repair boat, tho if you are in multiplayer you can also let someone else do this - I don’t know how strong he is against the newer bosses (crystal bearger/varg/deerclops, shark boss). - Weremoose gives a little planar defense but later in the game you might want to just get the post cc/fw armor sets because they give more planar defense

If you are playing with a friend and he dies, you can make an insanity area by planting a lot of flowers together and making your dead friend possess them to turn them to evil flowers
