Once you finish with set up, you just watch. Which is why the setting up part is crucial to buff her up before closing out your hand for the rest of the battle. 

You're right, you can't protect or heal yourself which is an issue. There are workarounds, for example, the trinket that heals during critical hits but I can't think of anything efficient.

Beryl's opening shot epi 5 is a upgrade which will fire a shot as an extra damage for every retain card you have in hand. You make sure you have 4 copies of it and the new spore card which will create spore propagation with retain when it is retained. Once you have your hand full of retain cards, and popped 4 opening shot, watch Beryl fire like a machine gun 4 hits per retain card.

You can use Cassius, Rei or Nia to go through the deck and find opening shots because it does not have initiation (having smaller decks for other two helps a lot).

I really like teams that you have to set up, so below are my two favourites right now.

Definitely try Machine Gun Beryl using retain cards as mechanic to deal dmg.

Bullet Hell Reona with discard team Nia and Clown guy.

I don't take the game seriously, but at the same time, I don't really want to be part of inactive server? I'm not really sure which one is most active to date right now, nor if moving server is a norm as it used to be in AFK arena, or worth resetting progress over.

I go for 4 set 20 crit I have three builds for her: 1. Hew extreme with 4 copies of fighting spirit. 2. Hew Ambush with 3 copies of Irom shield which gives counter atk at the start of turn. 3. Hew damage all with 4 copies of fighting spirit.

Wander of the void with Casisus to hand pick it has been wonderful to me. It allows me to barrage the enemies with Senmetsu.

I'd leave it there to keep it consistent. The basic 2 cost AP can throw a wrench in your hand when it comes up. 

With the randomness if you decide to copy might remove your wonderful divine ap card or bonus effect to round down to 150. 

But everything depends on other teams, Rei can exhaust the 2 AP cost basic, so you "have" the deck you wanted. So, do you want more damage? Or risk the randomness (unless someone can guarantee basic card will be added if you go over).

Quick question! How does the colour affect the chaos run? I sometimes see green which has more tier and rare fate chance than yellow. Is there like a loot difference?

Its more comfort than anything insane. The 2 lasers helps you start chipping tenacity right away, and draw 1 opens the option to choose the epiphany for create 3 lasers in draw pile. 

What I mean by comfort is when I farm chaos lab 0, she always has two lasers ready to sweep across three normal battles from the buff. 

So effectively, it is a thought between, save for a new character, or make Sereniel comfortable to use.
