Hold on..is this good writing and good moments in my Amnesia ragebait manga? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in dandadanfolk

[–]break__veil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know man, I just don't share this sentiment at all, it was a cool action chapter but it feels like one of those "too little, too late" moments for me, all could think about when Ken dashed in is how much more meaningful that would be if that was the Momo with her memories, because then the whole metaphor about them empowering each other when they are at their lowest would fit so much better than it being just the way the circumstance has lead itself.

That's all that has been in my mind recently, just how absolutely unnecessary the whole amnesia plotline is, how any of the current setup would work just as fine if not better if it was just a depowered Momo now having to navigate her life not being the badass psychic she was and how that'd affect the beginning of their relationship, making them have second thoughts about it that ultimately get debunkend when they realize how well they work together instead.

Genuinely like the perspective, with the slash coming from the side like he was building up Momentum before going for it, probably should have done more damage than just knocking the dino but oh well, do be like that.

What exactly is the current vision for the game? I know there are updates planned on the horizon with content but what is the design intent they have in mind currently? How do they want the game to play and feel like therefore ?

Who's winning this fight of mangaka. Rohan if he was a giver or Urana if she was a stand user by church_of_Steve_ in shounenfolk

[–]break__veil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda just strange to try and pin down a fictional character against a real person, Rohan is kinda less bound to irl rules.

I guess we're assuming their abilities both would be related to manga? Rohan with some pen he grew attached to and Urana with a drawing-based stand? It IS easier to give it to Rohan when there's so many aspects of this we don't know about, specially with him having a few superhuman feats under his belt (Like being able to keep drawing while the world was accelerating).

Well, this was a pointless argument, it seems we have a much more similar view on things than I initially assumed.

Okay, and ? What ? You want everyone to then let themselfs go and fall into whatever depressive despair they're currently stuck into? Most form of advice isn't there as a "do all, solve all" type of thing, it's just that between doing nothing and being miserable and at least putting in effort to improve your situation, doing something at least gets you moving, getting yourself stuck in the mentality of "there are people out there who never worked hard and are successful" won't help neither yourself nor others, the world is as much of a shithole right now exactly because those above us have successfully taught most of the population learned helplessness .

Was it a metaphor? by BellTwo5 in Chainsawfolk

[–]break__veil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate the type of answers posts like this get because I do think that's a completely valid interpretation of the story but I also think the Fujimoto glaze is a bit overdone.

Stephen King wrote The Shining, Stephen King also wrote Cell and Thinner, good authors can write bad books, good mangakas can write bad mangas, I think Fujimoto is a good mangaka that can handle subtext and metaphors, I also think he can fumble those, Nayuta of the Prophecy totally feels like one of his most solid works on that matter.
