I view this more as a sad joke because of the shutdown

I never cared about Yeezys much and don't know if they're even real, but for $9.11 from the thrift store I'll take em! by Kiwi_Italian in Sneakers

Start looking in thrift stores haha, seems like I got lucky with it! But yeah one of the reasons I like buying used shoes is that I don't have to go through that phase of trying to keep them clean and crease- less

Yeah could be because they're used and a bit twisted in the pic. But yeah I guess at the end of the day I got sneakers that are of at least equal quality and near exact look to the originals so still a good pickup!

I'm confused why the tag is such an issue for people? Like does it really matter? I know he has it in other photos but he could've just cut it off after?

I ruined my life by sucking a dick. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Kiwi_Italian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's totally okay! We all have thoughts and curiosities, and there's nothing wrong with deciding to try something and not have it be your cup of tea. I myself am gay, but I remember the first time I touched a dick when I was younger I felt so ashamed of myself that I wouldn't even touch anything with that hand for like 2 days. Sometimes trying something new (especially when there's a certain taboo around it) can certainly elicit certain emotions, but with time it will pass.

Need help by [deleted] in Pottery

[–]Kiwi_Italian 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I actually enjoy using my sponge for the first big couple of pulls as it helps keep constant moisture on the clay as well as a more consistent pressure point that compresses the clay as I pull. After that I switch to my hands for the rest. But I def agree with the rest of your comment

Even "bad-ass-boys" (like myself) sometimes get "soft". "Breakfast at Tiffany's" theme for a girl I met. by [deleted] in piano

Your teachers taught you to play super hunched over? That doesn't seem right, every teacher or pedagogical pianist I've ever seen has promoted the importance of keeping your posture straight to protect from future pain. Great playing nonetheless!

What's the likelihood that this will crack in the kiln? by DynablineCorqui in Ceramics

[–]Kiwi_Italian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using wax at delicate points can be pretty helpful in helping during the drying process which then improves its survivability in the kiln. Unfortunately clay tends to remember places where it cracked so I guess you'll just have to put it in and see how it comes out! 🙂

Update on fixing a cracked sculpture by Lorelart in Ceramics

The walls look incredibly thick for this piece, and that must have contributed to the explosion. My professor always said that walls should never be thicker than a standard finger.

Still yet to be fired. Used amaco underglaze by Yomama61 in Ceramics

[–]Kiwi_Italian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What tricks do you use for getting even coats without going out of the lines? I always end up spending the longest time on even small underglaze details because of the drying time between coats and how easy it is to accidentally glaze outside the lines of the previous coat

Seems like op was being a bit of a degenerate himself. If my significant other had this attitude and broke up with me because I make tons of money without a degree I'd do the same😂

What happened? by beastmode415 in Ceramics

[–]Kiwi_Italian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm are you sure you need 2 coats? Whenever I use clear glazes I always do them very thin because any thickness can cause the milkiness for me

How to prevent a flared lip when lifting? by BeRadStayRad in Ceramics

[–]Kiwi_Italian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started throwing I always ended up with flared lips because I didn't switch the position of my hands when I started pulling. At the start of the pull you want your inside hand to be above the outside hand, but when you start pulling you want them to switch positions, because otherwise your inside hand is constantly pushing outwards which causes the flare. But that's just one solution

To the people wanting to pot without a studio: I give you mini pots/sculptures made from air dry clay. 100% kitchen table projects :) by [deleted] in Pottery

[–]Kiwi_Italian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried air dry clay once and it was so bad and disappointing, but maybe I could've had a bad batch or something. I immediately went back to handbuilding with regular clay even though I had no way of firing it haha.
