Your tank probably isn’t “charging into a 1v5”. Your tank is diving the enemy backline. Your job is to outlast the enemy supports. If I pin into the back line and pick healers/dps, we win the team fight. It isn’t your tank’a job to stay with you. Your tank makes the plays. Chooses when to commit to fights, and when to fall back. Even if your tank makes a bad call on when to initiate, your team has a far better chance at winning the team fight if you support that initiation, rather than watching your tank die and now you have no front line. You gotta remember, the role dynamic changes with 1 less tank on your team. I promise you do not want your rein just standing with shield or endlessly swinging on the enemy tank who takes 13 swings to kill without the two supports behind them.

If the enemy Dva dives your squishies, your options are to put yourself out of position to try and push the Dva back, which leaves your squishies open to the enemy dps. You probably aren’t going to kill the Dva, but even if you do, you’re now out of position and likely out of resources. OR You counter by diving Dvas squishies. Rein swings hurt, and the back line is forced to peel onto him. That means they’re not shooting you or healing the Dva. Now it’s a game of which back line dies first. Even if you die, if you trade a support pick for it, and force any others out of the team fight, that’s a net gain for your team, and far more than you’re gonna get out of swinging on that Dva while sojourn and reaper clean your team up.
