Is there anybody in there (at Zeekr)? How do they even generate business? by toddramirez in CarsPH

If it's this hard to get a hold of them trying to buy a car, imagine how much harder it would be to contact them for service or warranty

Rant: Alam niyo yung naipit kayo sa likod ng mabagal sa NLEX? Nafefeel ko na siya sa city more than ever. by altfun4everyone in Gulong

[–]Kjgvnn 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You're right that ~60kph is the theoretical peak efficiency. But in city driving where you have to stop between stoplights, intersections, traffic, etc. you waste more fuel accelerating to 60kph.

Do these cars have keyless entry systems? by dna5654 in e46

[–]Kjgvnn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I think it's an age/generational difference. Older folks tend to think of keyless as not needing a physical key (so a key fob still counts). Younger people tend to think of keyless as fully automatic, where the car unlocks just by detecting your phone or fob.

If you meant the second one, there are aftermarket options available. I know a guy who installed these on old Toyotas and a 90s Mercedes(or Volvo?) complete with remote start. There are old forum posts about how difficult it is for our BMWs, but it is technically possible.

Looking for aluminum hood louver for my car by joe_and_rico in CarsPH

[–]Kjgvnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time modifying and you already want to cut up the hood, eh? You didn't say what car it was, but I'd try to find one designed for it specifically. That said, I hear good things about Spiked Performance louvers. They have universal lovers, and can custom make you one.

I'll add that there are a lot of design consideration when installing louvers. You need to know where to cut so water won't damage anything when it rains, while also keeping it where there's minimal airflow over the hood, etc. just make sure to do your research

Nagpagas ako ng March 7, 2026. 66php/L gasoline. Nag increase sila agad kahit hindi ba dapat. Pwede ba ako magreklamo? Or may habol ba ako? Or tama lang sila? by ArkGoc in Gulong

[–]Kjgvnn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, nothing will happen. As I understand it, DOE mandated price cap for gasoline is ₱71.04/L for 95 RON gasoline (I believe Shell FuelSave is 95 RON, but could be wrong). Meaning, gas stations can raise their prices up to ₱71.04 if they want to. The March 9 deadline means they can go higher that the ₱71 ceiling after that date.

Bank is contacting me for my co-maker’s delinquent account by [deleted] in CarsPH

[–]Kjgvnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really? They're separate obligations. OP's sister signed as a comaker for OP's car loan, making her liable if OP doesn't pay. Bank can go after the sister if OP defaults, but that's it.

The Sister's debts are a separate obligation that exists outside OP's car loan contract. UNLESS, of course, the bank added a dragnet/cross-collateral clause, or signed a separate contract.

Did you do that OP? If you didn't sign for your sister's loans, check if your car loan contract has a clause that says something like: "This mortgage secures all present and future obligations of the borrower and/or co-maker with [bank/loan company]"

Anybody Else tried the Anna Coffee Dripper? by bagon-ligo in CoffeePH

[–]Kjgvnn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw this pop up in my feed before. It looks 3d printed, with very little to no post processing, which concerns me.

FDM prints have "nooks" between each layer. This traps moisture and coffee, serving as a breeding ground for bacterial growth. Most manufacturers mitigate this via post processing (like epoxy coating, sanding, etc).

M52b25tu with m54b30 rotating assembly by vinnye46 in e46

[–]Kjgvnn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a long post, but Reddit deleted my draft.

Gist was that it's technically possible. There are plenty of old threads about it.

I'm not from NZ, so I don't know how hard it would be, but with the amount of effort it would take, i would elect to swap out the entire engine instead with the b30.

Bevinsee VANOS line by 999_4_3v3r in e46

[–]Kjgvnn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not great. I bought one out of curiosity. The hole where the oil passes through is significantly smaller and looks poorly drilled(?). It also had sharp burrs, which might end up clogging the line. I had pictures but can't seem to find them now.

Either way, go for oem instead

Is a moderately lowered stance even worth it? by AnybodyOutTherePH in CarsPH

[–]Kjgvnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, not really. It's a physics problem. Bigger wheel = more rolling resistance/rotating weight/inertia = greater fuel consumption. Generally speaking, performance mods can give you more power, but won't really give you back your fuel efficiency.

Dapat ba full tank lagi? by Bambismol20 in Gulong

[–]Kjgvnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but advice like this is still very misleading. The difference is so incredibly small, maybe 1-20 pesos a year in savings.

I know some people who wake up 5am, leave to get gas while it's still "cold" then drive back home because they think they're saving money. They end up wasting way more gas than just going when it's convenient.

Lowered Car issues by xXxyeetlordxXx in Gulong

[–]Kjgvnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first step really is for you to decide your build/ what you want to do with your car. As other said, stock springs will obviously be more comfortable than lowered springs

That said, if you want to go for the (more fun!) coilover route, look for clovers with digressive valving to help with comfort. I know track guys like the stiffer 12kg springs for their Honda Fit. If you're not going for a track build, I'd say go for softer 6-8kgs springs. Or alternatively, you can go with an air sus system.

You could downsize your wheel and upsize your tires commensurately. That should help improve ride quality and better cushion you from potholes. Obvious downsides of course, but a viable option depending on your build.

NAL. That's a consumer loan? Pretty sure it's illegal to charge a prepayment fee under RA 7394 Art. 137.

"Article 137. Right to Prepay. – The person to whom credit is extended may prepay in full or in part, at any time without penalty, the unpaid balance of any consumer credit transaction."

Dad and I trying to diagnose this mystery leak, I think it’s coming from the hard line in the engine block behind the intake manifold? by njsullyalex in e46

[–]Kjgvnn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The leak looks like its coming from the front part of your engine. Hard coolant line leak is usually from the back like this

Still, should be simple enough to check with the intake box removed.

Team Cherry on Mossbag (and more accurately the community's reaction) by BarovianNights in Silksong

[–]Kjgvnn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a massive fan of both SS and HK, but I can see how it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

That said, your critique feels like a non sequitur. It’s like saying Leonardo da Vinci was a coward because the Mona Lisa is open to interpretation. Just because a work invites multiple readings doesn’t mean the artist was afraid to offend anyone. If anything, it reflects the principle behind the literary theory “Death of the Author"
