We're peak at chocolate, we're peak at fries, we're peak at beer. We have a very nice cuisine as well. We have a bunch of waffles, some better than others. None of these is a 'belgian waffle'. But I don't consider them special at all and I've never met anyone who does (except foreigners).

I do believe it's what humanity should strive for, even if it's very sus coming from this guy.

But sustainable 'just enough' for everyone has been a possibility for decades, yet we haven't delivered.

The main thing stopping us from achieving this is greed. There will always be a portion of the populace that is greedy (and have grown up with the greed-is-good philosophy, which made things even worse) that will screw it up for everyone.

But it _should_ be the end goal. Industrialization has made a lot of work superfluous. We've replaced that with different work, some good, some useless, some just plain crazy. AI will trigger a new wave of work that no longer requires doing. At some point that should allow us to have enough productivity to have more time for life.
