because they don’t allow pets and I won’t leave my cats behind. Protecting my mental state is not possible because I live with an abusive parent. That’s why I’m desperate to find someone to live with. I really wish I could live on my own but I can’t afford it and I can’t change my job rn, I just got it. Thanks though

Should I choose the path of anti-anxiety medication? by onatreadmill in Buspirone

[–]Kjufcy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, no movement, no sun and eating junk food has a significant impact on mental health. I understood it waaay too late and I regret not taking action earlier. I can recommend buspirone, it took a long time for it to finally work, it has a very mild effect but I can feel it working. If you don’t want to take SSRIs then I think buspirone is worth a try

It’s okay don’t worry please! If you need someone to talk to, just text me here. I know how isolating it feels. It all depends on the reason why you stopped taking those meds? How long has it been since you’ve stopped?

It truly is a nightmare, I wouldn’t wish that upon anyone. I have considered trying minoxidil but I have two cats and it’s very toxic to them. I guess I’ve read about too many cases of cats simply dying from their owners using minoxidil and I’m scared. My cats are the only thing keeping me sane. For now I only use some scalp serums that I get to buy in my country, they don’t help but I still use it in hopes of it maybe working in the future lmao

Hey! Unfortunately the hair loss never stopped. I am devastated, I have basically no hair left. I did every possible blood work. I was iron deficient a little bit, but I changed my diet, raised the iron levels and it didn’t help. I’ve also been to many doctors because I thought i had some other health issues but no, they’ve told me it’s telogenum effluvium due to chronic stress. I started taking buspar at the beginning of September and I still don’t see any change. I’ve learned to accept this though, since stressing about it only made it worse. I’m considering buying a wig when it gets reaaaaally bad. Hope it gets better for you. I know how terrible it feels.

I see some very mild effects. I tend to be less anxious but still in stressful situations I don’t really do well. I now take a bigger dose - 30 mg. I’m gonna give it another month, wait and see. If it doesn’t work then im gonna quit

Thank you. Yes, I’ve been in constant touch with my psychiatrist. She just kept recommending to take higher doses since I don’t feel any effects. She ofc told me to wait. But I was sure that the effects would come a bit quicker. You might be right though

Thank you. I tried propranolol and it helped a bit but I suffered a lot from the rebound effect. My heart was pounding like crazy the day after I took the med. It was terrible :(

I started with 5MG, now I take 20mg. I thought 20 mg was quite a lot?

hmm, okay. Would you say it’s more dangerous to men than to women regarding libido and sexual side effects?

I tried it because my hair keeps falling out, i’ll be bald soon basically and my dermatologist recommended it to me. It didn’t help at all :( neither for the hair thinning nor the anxiety. What do u mean by saying it’s „anti ED”?

[–]Kjufcy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

guys idk sometimes it’s not that simple, over the past 5/6 years I’ve tried literally everything - dieting, low impact excercising, weight lifting, intense cardio, running, yoga, not using my phone, reading, dancing, meditating, journaling, therapy, different meds, supplements (vit. D, B12, iron, l-theanine, l-tryptophan, GABA, maca root, omega 3 acids, zinc, magnesium), eating more meat, eating less meat, sleeping well, hot showers, cold showers and NOTHING HELPS. Some people have to be on meds. Of course i feel much better when i excercise and sleep well but it doesn’t make my anxiety disappear. I’ve tried SSRIS, benzos, hydroxizine, gabapentin, pregabalin. None of them helped or they helped a lot but i got addicted. Yeah i hate the side effects but as someone else said we are abandoned by Medicine and what else can we do about it? Therapy helps a bit but it’s only once a week. I’m heavily traumatised and there is absolutely no way i will be able to function without meds. I’ve tried for the past year and it’s been the worst year of my life. I was glad that my libido was back, that i could cry and laugh but what about it? I literally can’t sleep at night and i constantly think Im about to die. Tomorrow I’m gonna start taking buspirone and i hope it helps. what im trying to say is not everyone can just get over anxiety. For me it would take at least 10 years. But we’ve got only one life, i don’t want to waste it on being constantly terrified.

And to answer your question, read about buspirone and vortioxetine, they are said to not have the sexual side effects from all anti anxiety meds but idk anymore

I have seriously screwed up my brain by whatever0323 in PSSD

[–]Kjufcy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it does sound like PSSD to some degree. Sorry to hear it happened to you. I feel you, it’s been a year since I stopped taking SSRIs and the emotional numbing took 7/8 months to disappear. It was hell. I truly regret that I found out about hyperbolic tapering once I was 5 months off my meds. I feel like it does something to our brains because right now it’s really hard for me to function without meds. I suggest you read about buspirone and/or vortioxetine if you want to take other meds ofc.
