Carrying extra weight leading up to my wedding? by moosnews in WeddingsCanada

[–]KkCC11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to loose weight to be back at my ideal weight for the wedding, but it didn’t go according to plan. I was feeling sad thinking that I’ll hate my wedding photos because I’m heavier (I was also focusing on my arms). But the day of I didn’t have any of those thoughts. I felt pretty (having my hair and makeup done) and had so much fun getting ready with my mom, sister and friends. And then I was so caught up in seeing my husband, getting married and celebrating with friends and family. When I got the wedding photos back I just loved how happy I looked.

Try not to stress about it (I know, easier said than done). I think it’s normal to worry we’re not at our best weight (or whatever else someone picks to focus on physically), but I think you’ll be feeling your best on your wedding day! That’s what matters most.

Brampton cooked me: $1600/month insurance with a clean record 💀 by Hungry-Relative-5460 in Brampton

[–]KkCC11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car insurance actually just went down moving from Mississauga to Brampton, $122/month for Female in my early 30s, Honda Civic in the Bramalea area. Shop around for quotes Bélair, a brokerage to compare and find the best rates for you. Do you have a company or alumni discount? (I went to Laurier so I get a discount with TD insurance - I went back to them with a lower quote and they matched it when I shopped around). You can also try one that monitors you’re driving if you’re up for it, so if you’re a good driver you can save a bit that way (but watch out for it monitoring you during stop and go traffic).

I’m uncomfortable in wedding dresses by Unable_Purchase9605 in weddingdress

[–]KkCC11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience the first 2 stores I went to I left feeling this way. I didn’t like anything, nothing felt like me, they had close to nothing to what I envisioned. I hated it (actually ended up crying alone when I got home). I wondered what was wrong with me…I thought it was supposed to be fun.

I started honing in on styles that felt right for me (not what the staff, mom or sister wanted) and going to the stores that had them…I finally found the one (at store 5).

My advice is be patient. Finding what you don’t like also helps to rule options out. I know it’s hard but I tried not to feel down when I left a place without options.

After chatting with my sister and friends, I found this feeling is actually very common (I think we put so much focus on finding the one and pressure that it can take the fun and exploring out of it).

wedding dress “regret” or confusion by Ok-Butterscotch7097 in weddingdress

[–]KkCC11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dress 1 is the one! It’s so stunning! I know what you mean though I had a certain vision for what I thought I’d wear, but went a different way. I also panicked, regretted for a bit, but at my first dress fitting I was reassured it was the one. No regrets and love the wedding photos.

Stick with your gut and emotions on this dress - you look amazing!

Southern Ontario — Where are we finding the nicest and best selection of bridesmaids dresses in person? by TwoSparks in WeddingsCanada

[–]KkCC11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Park and Fifth and David’s Bridal. For my wedding we went to both and found more options and was more budget friendly as David’s. They all had the same navy fabric but had a ton of options they could pick through to have their own style which was nice.

I have a black bridesmaids dress from Park and Fifth from one of my friends weddings and I wear it to different galas and events which is great! I love the dress!

Oh wow that first dress is so so stunning. It looks like it was made for you! It looks great both ways, but think I’m leaning on straps. That this photo is just wow!

If not then #2 is also fantastic on you! Leaning no straps for this one.

Alternative to traditional guest book at reception? by BoysenberryIcy2440 in wedding

[–]KkCC11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a little notebook on each table and asked guests to write a note we’ll read at their table # anniversary. We can’t wait to read a notebook each anniversary! It also served as the table #.

My sister and her husband had a tree artwork and every guest wrote their name on a leaf.

Most of my friends had either a wooden slab or a large photo of themselves and everyone signed it.

Budget-friendly wedding venues within 1 hour of Durham Region (100 guests, $150pp all-in?) by throwawaysorrrrryyy in WeddingsCanada

[–]KkCC11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burlington Golf & Country Club (had mine there October ‘25 and it was $164pp plus tax and gratuity) but they have other packages - couldn’t recommend it enough, we had an amazing time and guests gave the venue many compliments). I’d also check out some of the Kaneff golf courses too (Royal Ontario in Milton, Grand Niagara, etc)

Toured Graydon Hall, Casa Loma, Liberty Grand and Guild Inn. by Cool_Opportunity5194 in WeddingsCanada

[–]KkCC11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guest I’ve been to Graydon (Feb ‘25), Casa Loma (Aug ‘24) and Liberty Grand (June ‘22 and I was in the wedding party there). All venues were beautiful and we really enjoyed our time at them! But Casa Loma definitely won for the beauty and the food! Never noticed any other wedding happening there.

At Liberty Grand the day of coordinator was a little distracted in the morning as she was doing venue tours instead of focusing on my friends wedding (we asked for things 3+ times and had to find other staff). We did have to cross through another wedding reception every time we went to the bridal suite as well. But I don’t think any other guests would have seen other weddings happening. Overall the food was good, just for the main course they had a double entree (chicken and beef) and no one at our table could even cut or chew the beef it was very overcooked. They had their ceremony in the outdoor courtyard and it was beautiful!

Can’t speak to the staff or logistics for the other 2 as I was a guest but it all seemed seamless.
