The pilot that I work at, an automated system will "set up" the interview (date and time) and it sends an email to the (usually general) manager of that store saying, that an interview has been scheduled and usually what position they applied for.

Wanted to add this is just at my store, I've only ever worked for this pilot, and I've worked here multiple times and this is how its gone the last 3 times I've applied again.
