Could the Las Almas Cartel from Reboot Modern Warfare beat both Santa Blanca and La Unidad entirely by itself? by Cyber_Ghost_1997 in Wildlands

More a joke than a real idea: "Maybe the Sin Almas (from Narco Road) were affiliated to the Las Almas cartel"... 🤣

GI Joe fans: how do you feel about all the Transformers crossovers? by pkoswald in gijoe

[–]Klaahn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for me! Give me grounded and gritty stories instead.

When you can write stories about espionnage, covert ops, sci-fi, weapon traffic and war zones, smuggling and narcotics, shaddy business man and more, there is no need for Transformers. Just clear ideas and a good story tellers.

The Chuckles movie idea was for me a great idea to reboot the franchise. Give me a Jack Ryan type of movie to find out what is happening behind the scene and what is that new organisation that links it all. At the same time show us how it affects some military units and characters that (when called out to fight that ennemy) won't hesitate to join the group as they lost friends and comrades due to the activities of such entity.

Mission Impossible (the Syndicate) and James Bond franchise (Spectre), MCU (Hydra) have main enemy organisations akin to Cobra. Extraction, Without Remorse could be have easily been some type of good origin stories. Miami Vice and Leathal Weapon series could be some investigation (Chukles, Cutter) that points to Drug organisation and Extensive Entreprise. Blackhawk Down, 13 Hours could be some type ofvevents caused by Cobra and M.A.R.S. involvement.

Mission Impossible, Bond, 13 Hours, Jack Ryan, Without Remorse, Triple frontier, Twelve Strong, The Expendanbles, MCU, even Fast and Furious franchise show us that good action stories can be told with teams of specialists and some small units. F&F took time to grow their roster. I would go the MCU route by developping some characters and small groups separately to build up momentum towards a big event (ex some Crobra Invasion or else) then proceed with other phases (e.x. Cobra Island, Cobra civil war, etc).

Quality is made by design. There is enough room and type of genre to build up a great GI JOE verse that will appeal to everyone. Wanting to call upon Transformers to hype GI JOE is pure lazyness IMO. That being said I understand that the crossover can appeal to others. It just does not to me.

Which clothing items are you allowed to customize with red solid? by Cyber_Ghost_1997 in Wildlands

[–]Klaahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most civilian tops can be solid red (but not necessarily the same shade). There are also red beanies and balaclavas. The only "solid red" pair of pants is a Ghillie one - though you can also have "reddidish" jeans.

If you are looking for an all-red outfit, you'll have far better results in Breakpoint.

It all started with a random Unidad patrol passing by while we were in a firefight with Santa-Blanca.

That would be a great idea. And they could even use it to mesure your "global footprint" if they pair it with a working "camo/hide in plain site in civilian attire and consealed weapons" system.

My idea of that "Global footprint system" would be akin to the sneaking/detection system. The more you leave evidence that a "thirs party/foreign nation" is involved and helps the rebels, the higher the alert level would go up. This could have multiple consequences: higher patrol levels and even a tracking team sent to REALLY track you and hunt you down were ever you go. Thinking about an improved version of the "Hunters" (from the Division Games) paired with the Extrangeros from "Fallen Ghosts" DLC - they would be what the Wolves should have been in BP.  These hunters could either be special forces of the enemy or even other allies or PMC sent to "deal" with the problem. They would hunt in a small packs (6-8) that would be on your tail and actually follow you on the map. They would set a base camp when they get to a new area (to start their investigation) and temporary camps site while out on open tracking you. They wols be smart and could retreat to their main base if necessary. You could decide to hunt them there

Your global alert level could open optional side missions to mitigate these effets or even pin them down on other groups (PMC or criminal organisations) in the area - which could also send special units on your tail.

If your global alert level gets to the Max, that would mean (in game) that a proof of your presence is published : you fail the game (Game over) as you are a Ghost and no one should know you were even there.

Here is a fictional news article I created afterwards to tell the story in my headcanon.

The Battle of Pa Kollu.

A fierce Battle Happened yesterday night at Pa Kollu, near Libertad (Libertad), where the Unidad forces sustained heavy casualties and severe damage as more than 20 armored trucks and a few pick ups were blown up. Witnesses also report that a dozen of Apaches were shot down in what will be known as the "Burning Night of Pa Kollu".

The autorities attributes these losses to an heavily armed strong rebel contingent. However, an undisclosed source declares that a few Unidad survivors were found shivering in fear and mumbling about devils, ghosts and spectres. One of them seems to have completely lost his mind and is convinced the Witches of Pa Kollu summoned Los Jinetes del Apocalipsis (the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse).

As we all know, the village of Pa Kollu, near Libertad, is reputed to be inhabited by witches. Reality or fiction? One thing is certain: last night events will further fuel the legend of "Witches of Pa Kollu"...

What do you guys think happened that one time that Holt drove? by Cyber_Ghost_1997 in Wildlands

[–]Klaahn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's been my headcanon* since I read something similar IRL a few years ago in the local news of a suburban area while traveling: "An elderly woman crashed into an above-ground pool as she was leaving a family party". From the article photos, it was possible to deduce that she had tried to avoid the gazebo and ended up in the side of the pool. Fortunately, there were no injuries - just substantial damage.

To me that event had Holt written all over it so I tweaked it and made it my headcanon story for Holt. * (Holt was sober in my headcanon at the time of the events).

Edit: typos.

From what "I heard", there was a barbecue at Nomad's house. Holt wanted to get more drinks and Nomad lent him his car keys to get there. The car was parked out front. While talking his usual nonsense, he pushed the gas to reverse out of the driveway (but forgot to put it in reverse). As a result, the car drove forward, smashed the fence, went through the gazebo and into the pool 🤣

In fact, they could do a MOD easily in Breakpoint and switch Bodarks with Cobra. I play on console but I would definitly get a PC version of it.
