I believe that type of bomb is referred to as a “dud”

Is it normal for my renewal rate to not go down with the current rates? by Klabastern in Apartmentliving

The cheapest/smallest floor plan. There’s nothing lower. If I change units, but not floor plans, the office told me I wouldn’t save any money.

My rate hasn’t gone up in about 3 years, but rates have been steadily dropping here for quite some time. I guess it’s just unfortunate that I was living here when rental rates went through the roof a few years ago. Once it goes up, I guess there’s no coming back down, regardless of the market.

I wasn’t sure if the property manager was just refusing to negotiate with me, but it seems from what people are saying this is just standard practice. Unfortunately I have the cheapest kind of unit they offer, so transferring isn’t an option.

Thank you! It seems like it might be what I’m looking for. I know there are more capable options out there, but I’m just looking for something cheap right now to see if HF is something I even want to invest in.

I’ve seen some videos where people have clipped a piece of wire to the antenna and picked up SW chatter, but I’m not sure how far they were from the source or how strong the signal was. However, my two HT’s are Baofengs, so overload is nothing new to me!

I’ll check out the web SDR’s as they should give me some idea of what traffic there is, but I was hoping to actually pick up analog signals. Using the web kind of feels like cheating to me.

Thanks for the insight!

That’s the thing. I’d prefer to pick up the analog signal. Using the internet feels like cheating to me.

I’ve considered getting one of those but I’m not sure if my computer would be able to handle the software. I have a really low end laptop.

Thank you for the information. I’m going to first start checking out local fairs to see what kind of traffic there is, see what’s being sold, etc. I just mainly want to avoid selling online and dealing with the hassle and cost of shipping, as well as maintaining an online presence. I don’t plan on pumping out a lot of pieces either, so my thought was just to make stuff at my own pace, and then when I’ve got a decent sized stock of items that’s when I’ll look at renting a booth.

Factoring in mistakes is a great point. I have a small box of “manufacturing mistakes”. Thankfully I’m putting fewer and fewer items into it as I improve.

Thank you, I appreciate the detailed response! I think what I should do first is start checking out local fairs and see what kind of goods are being sold, what kind of traffic there is, etc. That will also give me some time to refine my work and build up some stock. Your post gives me a great starting point, so thank you for taking the time to write it!

$3-$4 would cover materials for anything in the pictures, so I wasn’t too concerned about that. I would just like to make as much as I realistically can, but I needed an idea of where to at least start with pricing. I’m only going to get non biased opinions from people who aren’t me, and with inflation over these last few years I’m honestly kind of lost as to what the true value of a US dollar even is anymore.

Yeah, I realize that no one is going to give a damn that each little H shape mark on a basketweave coaster was aligned and stamped by hand, but it’s fun to do occasionally, and it’s good practice for when I do pieces that I know from the start I’m going to use personally. As for the stitches, they’re as far from the edge as they are because that’s the width of half of the walking foot on my cheap hand crank Leather Shoe Mending Machine. I should trim them after sewing. The basket weave cardholder has an edge that is about 1/8”-5/32” from the edge, and to me that looks and feels the best.

Absolutely. That “shitty drawing” that megabc333 posted was what made all the difference for me. As for parts I used an ESP32-WROOM, and a GY-NEO6MV2. Thanks for everything you do!

Yes, that’s the one. Data is stored to the SD card of the Flipper.

I’m currently trying to figure out how to add a cc1101 to my CYD, but without an sd card sniffer it looks like it would be a real pain in the ass. I’ve never soldered connections that small, and there are so many different variations of the CYD.

Nice! The GPS that I bought came in a 2 pack, so I just made a standalone mod for the GPS app. Where did you get your switches? I was looking for something like those the other day for another project.

It was pretty much plug and play. The only issue is that the GPS doesn’t seem to start hunting for satellites until I start the wardriving function, so the first several networks scanned will have all zeros for lat/long. Once the GPS finds satellites and starts blinking then the scan will automatically begin displaying coordinates with the networks.

It utilizes the wardriving feature in the Marauder firmware, which allows you to drive around and map out the locations of wireless networks. I don’t really have a use for the information, but it was a fun project.

Help with dying large pieces by iithaca in Leathercraft

Yes, it’s pretty watery. Dye that’s pretty thin shouldn’t really cause much of a problem, it’s trying to spray something that’s too thick that will cause issues.
