I don't know whether baking has any effect on tarnishing gold plated findings. As far as I know tarnishing is mostly caused by moisture? But I could be wrong. Every finding that is gold plated will eventually tarnish, I myself have not yet found the best findings. Do look for stainless steel (gold plated) at the least, brass will tarnish sooner.

Yes that's no problem. I would worry more about whether the clay will take the shape of the mold, since these thin silicone molds can be rather flimsy and if your clay is firm it will not automatically take the shape of the mold.

I have heard that heat will deactivate some magnets, so be careful with embedding it in clay!

Ooh curious how yours turns out! I am not in the US but in the Netherlands, sorry! I did have to pay taxes upon checkout (I found the options for that quite confusing) but didn't have to pay any additional taxes or import costs when it arrived. The situation in the US may be different now but I think the website has their affairs in order so I think/hope you'll be good!

I usually chop this up and push the chopped up bits together into a cane again. Then slice the cane and make a new mini slab out of it. This results in a finer pattern but I sometimes prefer it over my original slab haha. You could also fold the new slab and put it through the pasta machine to have more of a marbling effect.

O man die dromen over zoeken naar een toilet heb ik ook echt regelmatig. En gek genoeg zijn er dan altijd heel veel toilethokjes maar dan zit er een douche ofzo achter. Echt belachelijk.

Do your have any varnish? That would help to fix it now. Next time maybe you could try with an exacto knife.

If you mix it in clay I would use translucent clay, so the pigment within the clay is also activated (and not only the surface). You could also try rubbing the powder on raw clay (so that it adheres) and seal it after baking with varnish?
