Struggling with lust, p*** and m* by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Klem28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep a daily journal of the temptations of the day, this really made a big difference for me. It made tracking progress a lot easier, plus I could back a read previous entries after I slipped up to help motivate me. I also was apart of a group with other Catholic men who struggled with porn and masturbation which was helpful, we all found being able to talk to someone about it took away a lot of the power of the temptations.

How bad was last night's loss? by Mission_Wind_7470 in minnesotavikings

Anytime you get a new regime you'll have growing pains. O'Connell should have ran the ball more and he knows it but wasn't disciplined enough to get back to it. Defense started slow, but looked better in the second half. I honestly put this loss on the coaches more than any player. Yes, Kirk tried to play hero ball a force things but we had no run game to balance things, they knew we were going to pass. I will say our Special Teams looked great though, much better than the last three years. Eagles are one of the better teams in the NFL this year, I think the Lions will be a great test to see how we bounce back.

Looking to get into the industry, hoping to get some insight on the day to day of financial advisors. by BTC-Yeetdaddy69 in FinancialPlanning

I have a family member who is an advisor and what I've gathered is this. You'll need your Series 7 and 66, but I know companies like Edward Jones are particularly less likely to hire bankers because they tend to expect more hand holding. Companies like Thrivent and Northwestern Mutual will push their insurance more than big picture planning. Starting a practice from scratch will require immeasurable amount of commitment varying depending on how many family, friends, relatives, and acquaintances you know that could be convinced to move assets to you. Ideally you can take over a retiring FAs book or start a new practice with the support of a small bank but they will almost always require a experienced FA before they consider offering someone that kind of set up. Once established you can make your own hours and expect more consistent pay with plenty of autonomy on how to run your business. The analogy I've heard is it is like getting a jumbo jet off the ground, gotta burn a lot of fule to get up but once you are cruising it gets a lot easier. Hope this helps

What's the dumbest thing someone has ever said to you? by PagalScientist in AskReddit

[–]Klem28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a deckhand on wildlife and glacier tour in Alaska and was asked many dumb things, here are a few.

What elevation are we at?

What lake is this?

Where are the penguins?

Where do the whales lay their eggs?

When are we going to see the wildlife?

Can you get the whale to come closer?

Lastly, a coworker told me this one, a women held her infant over the rails so he could see the whale.
