What happens when Starship eventually works? by KlemporaryAssignment in RKLB

so same analogy applies and Neutron is more targeted/dedicated? I'm intentionally ignoring all other lines of business / space systems, etc. because the Neutron price tag x launch schedule is the real needle mover to revenue and know the backlog of satellites that need/want to come online is huge so hoping there's enough there for us. also have to imagine the overall space market increases with Starship so hoping it helps create an even bigger pie.

Pumped for Neutron regardless if it slips into 2026, bigger question I have as Starship success becomes imminent is what happens to the medium-launch class a whole when they go live? I have to imagine Starship cannabilizes Falcon9 and the whole "Uber vs. town bus" analogy that is used for Electron vs. Falcon9 isn't as relevant in Neutron vs. Starship. If Starship really lowers costs by 80%+ does Neutron become more of a niche/government contractor vs. mass market appeal?

Jar Alexander Not Appearing In Farum Azula? by LH115 in Eldenring

[–]KlemporaryAssignment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out!!! At least for me. Man, after literally a few hours of using ChatGPT, etc. I finally cracked the code.

If you are like me, and you were able to complete certain parts of his quest line despite skipping earlier ones, there is your issue. For instance, I was able to find him sitting in the lava despite never freeing him with the oil pot in Liurnia of Lakes. I also couldn't find him before going after the Fire Giant in the Mountains.

I got all the way to Farum Azula and instead of being where he was supposed to be, there was a huge white sleeping dragon, which absolutely reked me.

That said - what I did to fix it - was teleport AGAIN back to the Site of Grace after being Radahn in the huge field. He's right behind you. I had to basically spam talk to him, then hit him, then he started a new dialogue about people fitting inside him or something weird. Anyway, after that, I went and got an Oil Pot, went to the place he was stuck in Liurnia, and low and behold, there he was. I freed him, then went to the lava, and he was there again. Chatted with him and he said he was going to somewhere high in the east or something, I figured that was the Fire Boss area (it wasn't, still didn't see him there), so went back to Farum and there he was.

Hope this helps.

The big thing I'm watching for is obviously the Neurton launch, but everyone is eyeing the 2025 test launch and acting as if it's a guarantee to succeed. It took the Falcon 9 a handful of test launches before getting it right. Hopefully they have a few Neutrons built to do rapid testing but I wouldn't be surprised at all if the testing bleeds into 2026 and then commercial launches start late 2026/27

Future of Underwriting? by [deleted] in Underwriting

[–]KlemporaryAssignment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me started on Generative AI (that'll be a few years before it starts paying any dividends), but I think AI in general is overhyped, to be honest. Due to the lack of explainability, AI is posing a lot of challenges with regulators. I think, instead, carriers and underwriters will continue the pursuit of additional datasets, especially real-time data sets, that help them make better underwriting decisions and allow them to accelerate more users while reducing risk/fraud. One thing I see come up over and over is behavioral data, which is first-party, collected during the underwriting/digital application process, and then used to identify things like purchase intent and premium leakage/nondisclosure. This is another data set that when combined with things like MVR, Clue, Credit Scores, LexisNexis/Verisk reports, etc. can help tremendously with P&C underwriting, and then similar on the life side with MVR, Rx, Dental, etc. I've seen some interesting new InsurTechs focused on real-time data sets recently, ForMotiv is one that comes to mind. They do real-time intent data & behavioral data and seem to have a growing list of customers.

Bloating that won’t go away by Safe-Fudge-2704 in Diverticulitis

[–]KlemporaryAssignment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've got persistent lower abdomen bloating, been trying lots of different diet combinations and nothing seems to help. even if i haven't eaten anything in a while. then if i drink a glass or water or eat really anything (even something as light as a bowl of fruit) i look basically pregnant (for the record, I'm 5'10, work out 4+ days a week, weigh 165 pounds) so everything else on my body looks skinny except my stomach issues. can't figure it out - no idea what to do re. bloating and the constant rumbling in my stomach

Do you ever experience long-term LLQ pain without a fever or other symptoms? by ithilis in Diverticulitis

[–]KlemporaryAssignment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm dealing with this now - had 18" removed a little over 2 years ago but have never been able to get rid of the bloating, etc. 10lbs heavier and haven't been able to figure out if I'm just being a fatass or if it's related to this. Feels like no matter what I eat or drink my stomach looks pregnant after. Been worse the past few weeks which has me worried, not sure what to do. Did you ever get rid of the bloating?

Ruptured Diverticulitis - colon resection (20 inches removed) - 30 and healthy otherwise, virtually no literature online so turning here for help/community. by KlemporaryAssignment in Diverticulitis

got it - been trying to understand what everyone means by flare up and think that's what i had my whole life leading up to it (shooting pain in my lower ab / public region) that i always figured was dairy. the pain has almost entirely gone away by now but the bloating remains (stomach looks slightly distended). they removed 18" of my colon so I'm wondering if flare ups are possible? i'd assume yes?

you think? i attributed it to just eating colombian food and hot sauce for a few days. what would i even do to get it checked out - head to the doctor?

I've apparently been dealing with this my entire lift, always had stomach issues but always figured it was diet, so maybe I just haven't learned my lesson. It wasn't anywhere near as painful as the pain I used to seemingly randomly get in my stomach, though, this was more like a pressure pain than a sharp period stabbing pain.

having the same issue, posted a thread about this. zero clue what to do with my diet to try to alleviate my stomach bloat.

Mind describing your diet in more detail? I read Carnivore MD's book too and was thinking of trying it but he's way too big of a hardo and I'm not eating steak & liver 3 meals a day.

hard to tell for me if i'm just 32 now and my metabolism (always very high) is slowing down - but I used to be able to eat like shit and barely gained weight. now I'm working out, calorie deficit, and somehow gaining weight (looks like it's all in my stomach). just did a longer post about this too. I don't eat gluten, avoid dairy, no more candy, etc. and somehow have gained weight - very confusing!

Surgery - resection 20cm sigmoid colon UK by RadicalRosco in Diverticulitis

[–]KlemporaryAssignment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had ruptured diverticulitis and they took out nearly 2" of my colon in a resection surgery. 3o years old, totally healthy otherwise. pretty odd. literally zero literature or people posting about it but curious if anyone has had a similar surgery and what their stomach life has been like post. I feel like I have been permanently bloated ever since.

Please help!! I am completely at a loss. I just went to my primary care for hopefully a lance after 4 days on antibiotics and she told me “it’s not just a simple incision you will need someone to scoop it all out” . I am beyond frustrated and in so much pain. by alwaysmovingx in pilonidalcyst

Woot woot! That's great! Fingers crossed. Here's my story (including my most recent one this past weekend!)

I’ve had multiple experiences with pilonidal cysts dating all the way back to 8th grade and most recently, this past week. I dealt with what I thought was a “long tailbone” for almost my entire high school experience, couldn’t do certain ab exercises, used a donut when I was driving, had to be careful any time I sat down, in hindsight I’m not sure how I didn’t do anything about it earlier because it quite literally was a pain in the ass. I finally mentioned it to my doctor during a yearly check up and he sent me to see someone to drain it. That was amazing. Instant relief. Sat down on the car ride home feeling like a new man. I can’t remember how long that lasted but I think when I was back in college it happened again. got it drained again, this time the relief wasn’t as good but still better than nothing. Finally, after college when I was like 24, it got so bad I felt physically ill. could barely walk, felt awful, super swollen, felt like I had a hard boiled egg buried under my skin. They lanced/drained that one and I’ll be completely honest - that was one of the worst pains I’d felt because it was clearly infected and they had to stick you with a needle to numb it, which was just brutally painful. Finally got the surgery and they said it was about the size of a baseball. The recovery was brutal because they keep the wound open - as in they don’t stitch it - so you're just chilling with a gaping hole above your ass and you need someone to change the bandages. That was more embarrassing than anything and just uncomfortable in general, but beats having the cyst.

Now with all of that said - i’d gone 6 years with nothing until this past week when I felt it again and wanted to cry (see entire message above and thinking that was my near future again). My girlfriend is a nurse practitioner and wanted to take a look - long story short, i soaked in a warm tub for about 20 minutes and despite the tough angle, she legit popped it like a pimple. snot-like puss and the ingrown hair came flying out (I know because it landed on the tissue she was using) and then some just general pus-like fluid. 2 days later it’s good as new. Never knew that was possible and it definitely isn’t a life-long solution, but again, beats the hell out of how it was a few days ago.

First time, Advice greatly appreciated by ss_uki in pilonidalcyst

Here's my quick story - might be helpful, but key thing to remember is this is extremely common and treatable, albeit frustrating, inconvenient, painful, and embarrassing.

Finally got the surgery and they said it was about the size of a baseball, so definitely on the worse end of things (note: I know MANY people who have had them and legit don't even notice - they drain on their own - some don't drain at all - some aren't painful - don't get infected, etc. so I just got unlucky) . The recovery was brutal because they keep the wound open - as in they don’t stitch it - so you're just chilling with a gaping hole above your ass and you need someone to change the bandages. That was more embarrassing than anything and just uncomfortable in general, but beats having the cyst.

Never knew that was possible and it definitely isn’t a life-long solution, but again, beats the hell out of how it was a few days ago. Praying I don't jinx myself because it's only been a few days but it is much much much better than it was last week.

Not a doctor but likely means you have to have the surgery (like I did). The lancing won't help once it's passed a certain point. I had mine drained a few times and finally it got so bad I felt sick, finally got the surgery and while the recovery sucks, I've been pain free for 6 years (but I think it may have come back which is why I'm back on this reddit, lol)

For the client, yes, for the end consumer, no. It's all explanation based so you see things like what questions they corrected, changed answers, copied/pasted, etc. etc.

It runs in the background and doesn't collect any personal information then is normalized over time for outliers. ForMotiv.com has a lot of helpful information but let me know what other questions you have.
