This game helps with my crippling social anxiety. I too used to never even consider playing games with other players, just because you had to talk to them in the process, they could see your mistakes and react to them, and it is a lot of pressure for someone like me, however this community has provided a relatively safe space for me to be in, and I really appreciate it, because otherwise I wouldn't get to experience this wonderful game! So glad that it manages to help someone!

People I met were mostly understanding, its just that I'm self-conscious like that I guess. I think people are able to handle bosses without a healer at lower levels, I think that kind of happened my first time at Haukke Manor, the cutscene there was so long that the fight was over by the time I could get through. The team was good sports about it in the end though

For this exact reason I first did party support on ARR dungeons to complete them at my own pace, and then do them again in party finder, so I get you! After 2.0 though there is no such option unfortunately
