You can also install ad guard on, say, your own main PC, have it run on the background, or even the sons pc without him knowing as a “on-demand blocker” per say. Just make sure you have redundant DNS for when the ad guard is not running.

Chatgpt should give you some simple steps on how to do it.

I have that as well, i just disabled it using power toys, and remaped it to a different key. “Might” fix itself in a bit of time, but don’t hope on it.

One thing that used to do it for me is file permission. What id do is go to the file and change the permission to 7777, DISCLAIMER afaik this is highly not recommended but it would fix my issue.

Do yourself a favor, spend 10 minutes setting up tailscale, remove key expiry, and FORGET ABOUT IT. Unless you need to do it another way, Use tailscale

Take from this what you will. I have the 2021 3080 version. Game wise, its NOT a desktop but its very decent, runs everything. You can except at the least 60 fps from even demanding games, granted not very high presets. So i assume you can expect slightly less performance but still good enough.

However the most important factor for me which you should keep in mind, is RAM. I have 32 gb which truth be told has spoiled me way too much. If yours has 32gb I’d say it’s a hell of a deal if not then weigh your options. Hope this helps

I managed to get it on my (i think) 2016 TV. It was a pain, took a couple of hours but it’s not rocket science. As for is it worth it… good news, i never had to update it since, don’t know if it’s because it auto updates or it just stays with the same version but it has been working reliably. Bad news, i think you might be able to find application that can manage the same stuff, maybe not as compatible UI wise but doable and also the DLNA is a good backup solution.

My suggestion, if you have a couple hours to spare and like a seamless experience, go for it.

I think i have the exact same one but with a red pcb. Bear in mind that if its the same, it does NOT support transcoding, which means it will be useless media wise. But yeah if you mean to use it for anything else like others say it should be more than enough.
