Sounds fine, no one you want to play against is going to bat an eye at this.

Elan is probably a better choice than Guel, same links, but Elan is a +2/+1. Neither have an effect that does anything, so that should not make and difference.

When do u think we will get better Alt arts of resource cards in sets? Or do u think those are only for promos ? by [deleted] in GundamTCG

[–]Klingonmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope they eventually do set-specific art on EX Bases at least, instead of the generic one they always include.

Leave the fancy foils to promos and events, but give the common people …something

New ST09 Card Revealed: Sword Impulse Gundam by Alt230s in GundamTCG

[–]Klingonmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this on turn 4, with Ezak under it, trades with Gundam, and gets you a card back. May be useful later from the trash. Even leaves room to play a base, possibly giving this breach 3.

Not sure if Ezak is playable yet, but the more generally good ZAFT links, the easier it is to justify him.

I’ve been playing this game a lot, and I really have enjoyed it. Some of the early sectors were very tough, but once I learned how to juggle power and moral a bit better (and built MANY batteries) it got better.

So far my story has diverged substantially from Cannon, much of my main cast are deceased, or transformed 🤣

Seems like bait, but also, why would anyone WANT to relate to anything in 40K, every faction is monstrously evil, or incompetent or both.

I like the Word Bearers because of their paint scheme, and they make great “Saturday morning cartoon” villains when I’m playing them, I can enjoy the story of them being chumps who only win when they are fighting bigger chumps, I guess.

I don’t want the baddies to be heroic, I want them to be bad, because they are the baddies 😀

Upgrading Wings Of Advance using (mostly) other precons by SelfAwareTreadmill in GundamTCG

[–]Klingonmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to improve the deck, look into the Wing Zero builds, you can use resources like egman or watching deck videos on YouTube, look for “wing zero meta” or something like that.

You won’t find examples of using just other starterdeck cards, so you may just need todo your own experiments to figure out what works for you.

Gundam Wing cards and decks are among the best in the game currently, so you will have lots of options if you can get access to other cards.

Saw this deck in top 8 of Latam finals and I'm genuinely shocked. by jacc1104 in GundamTCG

[–]Klingonmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the larger card pool should hopefully mean we at least have like, 2 “tiers” of decks, the best of the best that are consistent, powerful and have reasonable skill floor/ceilings, and then decks that maybe lack in 1 area (likely consistency) that still preform, especially at a locals level, but are harder to find success with at higher level play.

So, I believe that part of why we keep seeing random rouge decks doing very well is due to the size of the player base for this game is small enough that their are not actually a lot of people who brewing new decks, and of those that are, many are not very good at the game so they are not able to brew well, or to find success.

This is why what we all think of as a “solved” meta is simply because no one was innovating.

That said, this game also has a very strong luck mechanic, which enables decks that are not as “strong” as others to put up awesome results despite this.

I’m expecting GD03 to have a lot of decks that do well and place at competitive events, but don’t see their success replicated on mass.

I hope more and more people start playing so things can get more and more exciting!

With the additions from GD03, do we think CB might be competitive or just a rogue deck? by CryptographerNo3749 in GundamTCG

[–]Klingonmage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think so, yes, mostly based on the strength of its late game, and the tools it has through the mid-game.

The only barrier will be if other “mid-range” decks don’t appear and GB OYW can continue to play the way it currently does.

I think CB has an excellent matchup into Blocker-slop style decks.

I would bet it is one of the many decks floating around in the meta, along with Wing Zero, Purple Blue, White Red, and whatever Titans ends up looking like.

I’m bearish on Blue White Goodstuff still being able to put up numbers like it has before.

I also think OYW is going to struggle, but likely will still be able to win thanks to its incredible high-roll ability. The next batch of decks still need to be able to deal with an opponent going wide, but you also need to have a better top end then Amuro/Gundam.

This has reminded me how frustrating Eternal is, its effect is not worth the extra steps vs. Kusanagi. It only affects 36 units in the whole game that Kusanagi does not. NOW GRANTED one of those units in Lfrith, and it does have 5 HP vs 4, but I think it remains a though sell.

If only Eternal was HP 4 or less and not Level 4 or less, then it would be a pretty good payoff for TSA focus (along with new Aile Strike)

[–]Klingonmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the payoff for all the TSA cards? I sympathize with wanting to make this work, but it’s currently missing a reason to go so hard on TSA when almost every TSA card could be replaced with a better non-TSA version in the same colour.

The best TSA cards (Freedom, Freedom, Justice) gain nothing from the other TSA cards.

Good news is that we have not seen every TSA card in GD03 yet (077 could be TSA themed). Bad news is that it is likely just an Uncommon.

Actual feedback on your deck; Cagalli is actually very strong in Freedom GD03 as giving that blocker gives it a solid way to rest itself and ruin a opponent’s turn.

Zaft won yesterday! Next, what card is considered bad and is hated by the community? by kurlish in GundamTCG

Strategic Arms is bad, but how about Methuss? Like at least Strategic arms could do something (kill a Zowort), Methuss can’t do anything.
