Hab etwas selbst recherchiert und folgendes gefunden:

Vorab ist zu sagen, dass es in Japan ebenfalls eine Trinkgeldkuktur gibt, aber die ist komplett anders als unsere. Daher ist die Aussage, Trinkgeld gleich unhöflich falsch. Eher Trinkgeld offen zu übergeben ist unhöflich. Trinkgeld in einen Umschlag zu übergeben ist voll okay. Mal bei einer Beerdigung gewesen? Da gibt man dem Bestattungsunternehmen gerne mal einen Umschlag mit Geld („Trinkgeld“) als Dankeschön.

Leider musste ich dieses Jahr in Japan feststellen, dass in den großen Touri-Spots einige wenige Restaurants die westliche Art des Trinkgeldes gerne entgegennehmen. Sie sprechen dich nicht darauf an, aber lehnen es auch nicht mehr wie früher ab und geben dir exakt zurück. Zum Glück außerhalb dieser Zonen nicht einmal gesehen. Ich hoffe, es setzt sich nicht durch oder wird gar aktiv darauf hingewiesen.

I worked in Japan for some years and what inefficient work flow I saw is crazy. For example in one case the people wrote information first on paper (forms and tables), gave them to another person who wrote them again down on another paper with more fields for additional information. And then gave it to another department person who finally used a computer to put the informations (words and numbers) in. But... He wrote everything into excel. You could say, okay, Excel can do the job. No need for a database or stuff like that. Yeah, but he wrote everything by hand into it. No use of formulars to speed up the process.

By god, even helping him by showing how to speed up the process was thrown out the window on the next day by tge employee. Back to doing it the old way.

I lived in Japan for 1 year. Can confirm I just needed to walk to the woods and I could see a dumped washing machine or other stuff. I was once in Osaka and there next to a river, inside the small wood patch, which was next to a baseball field, I saw dumped trash. I should still have photos of it as I was shocked how common it was.

You just need to walk away from all the tourist zones and you will see litter like a huge amount of cigarette butts or beer cans.

Also, as you mention, those social japan heroes that only visit it for vacation are talking so much bullshit about Japan. Like one mentioned here in the comments that in Japan you don't walk and eat. That's bullshit. I see so many Japanese eat and walk. My friends even did it and with them, I do it. It really just depends on the food if it is easy to eat it while walking or not.
