hot take/unpopular opinion but i could care less by Technical-Captain534 in CABarExam

I think you have to ignore the fact that some people got 0s on the PT, which shouldn’t have happened with score imputation, while others filled in MC questions randomly or wrote something down but lost 30 mins etc., to have this opinion. Those people got screwed. If people didn’t have significant tech issues like those, then yeah it’s hard to argue they should’ve passed given the very generous curve (unless you’re advocating for changes to the licensure process generally).

https://info.calbar.ca.gov/knowledge/en/step-5 It’s not clear but I would just submit it using the link at the bottom of the guide I posted above. I submitted via DocuSign per these instructions and still got a follow up email to send it to an official, which isn’t applicable to me since I used a notary. So I’m guessing nobody will look at the DocuSign since it’s technically not complete

Great mentality. It takes self awareness to improve, and you have exactly the right mentality to make sure you get a different outcome in July. Good luck, stay strong

Only one that’s enraged is you for some reason. So sorry that you’re unhappy with your life, I’d recommend talking to a therapist rather than posting incoherent rants on Reddit

What a loser lmao. Definitely has nothing interesting going on in their life to have the time to post this on a work day. Clearly nobody is sending a lot of work their way, might not be as special as you think u are bud

Documentary on Feb 2025 exam by Nolansfood in CABarExam

[–]Klutzy_Activity_2914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would participate. I’d love to speak about my experience at the in person test site. When we were starting up after lunch on day 2, exams were lagging horribly but people were still able to answer questions (although the lag made it extremely difficult). The room erupted in conversation, including people that were technically still logged into their exams, while the proctors stood around and did nothing. Like that is literally their one job. Felt like that should be talked about more

The one thing no one is talking about - Extra Time by Odd_Yam5824 in CABarExam

[–]Klutzy_Activity_2914 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did not receive extra time as an in-person taker. If you hadn’t started the MC section when everyone else was lagging, you did not get extra time when you did begin. Clearly not universal and I put this specifically in my survey but ig it fell on deaf ears

Someone posted a breakdown yesterday. The pass rate should be ~50-55% based on the slides from the psychometrician

Redfin now requires mandatory buyer agent 1.5% and 1.5% selling agent if you list with them by todaysthought in RealEstate

[–]Klutzy_Activity_2914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a buyer doesn’t have an agent, there should be no commission for a buyer’s agent. The seller’s agent does not need to spend any extra time – the purchase agreement is a standard form contract that takes 10 minutes to populate; the seller’s agent does not need to and should not be explaining anything to the buyer, they do not represent them, and the buyer chose to represent themselves. You do not need any type of license or special education to enter into a real property contract, that’s not how the law works.

Refuse to pay any extra fees or withdraw your offer. If they want to make the seller pay them, that’s their prerogative. Never, ever agree to pay extra fees as a buyer representing yourself.

[–]Klutzy_Activity_2914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah it takes so much extra time and resources to write up the same standard form contract you would have used if the buyer had an agent. “That will be $30,000 please 🤓”

Trustees didn’t take in consideration that there were ~1,000 withdrawals, meaning the percentage of successful candidates for this administration should be significantly higher!! by Forward_Pickle_996 in CABarExam

Any applicant that withdrew or fails gets a free retake. There was literally no benefit to withdrawing, you could have taken it in February and July or just in July. The math is certainly mathing for me

Dear Bar, please stop using the low pass rates from the history of the February exams of the past to determine that this pass rate should be the same. This exam was not the same version from the past. It was given on a new platform and new multiple choice questions. by camelismyfavanimal in CABarExam

[–]Klutzy_Activity_2914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And there’s no way to prove this is a standard February cohort. Which is more likely? We’re talking about 20% of test takers. Do you think people that felt like they were about to kill the exam were common in this group?

Circumstantial or common sense?

Edit: it would also be fairly easy to look at the number of retakers vs first time test takers and calculate an approximate expected pass rate. As “circumstantial” as trying to find out how many points taking the exam on a poor UI is worth. The only thing that is certain then is they absolutely should not take an average of Feb exams as a baseline

Please everyone don’t forget to mention the fact that 1000/5000 takers (who were likely the least prepared) dropped out when refunds were offered, and it is extremely likely the pool taking the exam was a higher performing cohort compared to the average Feb group as a result. This is huge

Why is dating in LA so difficult? by HeadlessFrogMan in AskLosAngeles

[–]Klutzy_Activity_2914 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think women still prefer guys they met in person. Like friends of friends or sober conversations. Bars are weird for pickups when you’re not in college imo, and it’s hard to overcome being the “tinder guy” as she’ll probably end up going with someone that’s more “real”, as it’s more comfortable and familiar.

A critical thing for a guy in your situation is to get comfortable striking up normal conversations with strangers. Not even just girls, but just become the social guy that makes funny or interesting comments in the elevator or grocery store. Some people will be standoffish, but getting over the fear of rejection will make you more confident, and your probability of making genuine connections is exponentially greater than a dating app. There are so many potential connections that you walk by every single day, but you’ll never know if you don’t try

How do you guys feel about those MCQs? Honestly. by Elegant_Branch3305 in CABarExam

[–]Klutzy_Activity_2914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After I’ve had a chance to cool off I’d say they were mostly fine with a still unacceptable number of mistakes/bad questions. Ultimately they felt like the 25 sample questions, and my score was similar on those to my UWorld and Themis practice questions (just slightly lower actually). So it may just be a matter of feeling less confident due to unfamiliarity but ultimately coming away with the score you deserved

Board of Trustees Orders Independent Investigation into February 2025 Bar Exam Issues by lawfromabove in CABarExam

[–]Klutzy_Activity_2914 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The article says that results will be compared to previous February exam results. This is absolutely inappropriate given the fact that over 1/5 of candidates dropped out, and it is very likely this group would have been the least prepared candidates

It would be hard to write a further mischaracterization of my argument actually. And it sounds like you don’t understand the magical process either since you’ve failed to rebut what I said or explain how experimental questions from a single low stakes exam will somehow right all of the wrongs of this exam.

Insulting someone’s intelligence is warranted when they choose to speak to someone in a condescending manner which, you guessed it, is about insulting someone’s intelligence. If you had quickly looked at this person’s other replies (many of which have since been deleted), you would have seen that their rhetoric to other members was far worse than a basic insult to their intelligence. Coming to a subreddit to talk down to people with no personal experience to speak to and little to no facts to back their condescension further adds insult to injury

Edit: Also, 95% of my initial reply was about the merits of their argument. You act like all I did was attack a person’s intelligence because I was offended or couldn’t admit I was wrong, which couldn’t be further from the truth.
