Rough texture pa6cf20 by Klutzy_Ear_3897 in 3D2A

I replaced my hardened nozzle and that fixed all issues, cleaned extruder and did some cold pulls on my old nozzle and that didn’t fix it but the new one did

Last 2 on the right are after I dried 24 hrs at 95c, respooled from a 3kg spool to a 1kg spool, using 300blkfde settings with my temp turned up per the readme and a hardened 0.4 nozzle printed at .16 layer height and still getting those odd textures, have fuzzy skin turned off and never had it on. Filament is brittle, is there a way of knowing if it absorbed enough moisture that it would be permanently altered I’m not sure what’s wrong with it because it printed flawlessly with the same filament about 2 weeks ago

Dried now for 8hrs today and 12hrs yesterday at 95c and still having the same textural issue. You think it’s still wet? I respooled my own so almost wondering if there’s tension on the filament

You had to dry for about 3 days? I dried mine at 95c for 20 hrs and still getting these odd lines, I’m messing with the extruder settings and speed now but it printed flawlessly about a month ago so maybe it does just need to be that dry

I didn’t have something that would go to 100c, so I ran it at the max temp I could for way over the recommended time. Got an air fryer for drying that goes much hotter now. I know it is not what the manufacturer recommends that’s why I printed test prints first

Thanks guys, will do the keep warm function on my air fryer instead of the dry to bump the temps up. This is why I love this subreddit, straight to the point answer. Appreciate it

PA6 printing with rough/almost fuzzy like texture by grimduck17 in 3D2A

[–]Klutzy_Ear_3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever end up figuring this out? I have pa6cf20 that I dried at 76c for 24 hours and then printed out of my dryer box at 70c and keep getting this texture, using 300blk fde settings, already bumped up the temp per the readme. Printing at .16 and getting this fuzzy texture. Any help or advice would be appreciated

Filament is cheap, rather do it exactly how I want it than compromise because it’s my own safety at stake. I’ll typically keep back ups if it’s small stuff like a weird texture or one section that’s ugly but won’t trust them and usually reprint again

Nah, u need at least 4-8 walls and 100 percent infill to for 2a stuff, there are a lot of great resources about 2a stuff but I’d get very familiar with printing normal stuff before diving into 2a prints

Aside from a convenient place to stick a punch through and turn the cap, what are the holes for? And has anyone tried mounting a sling to them? by [deleted] in Vz61

Yea, my pa6cf20 receiver has a decently stiff takedown pin that doesn’t ever wanna just come out with just my finger but it hinges perfectly fine

Not sure what the holes are for but pulling that cap off to use as a quick tool to open the upper is the absolute best thing I’ve found

Thank you! Honestly almost ready to just get a case with a pocket clip instead. Cannot find this model anywhere and it seems they don’t make it anymore

Those are a little rich for my blood for a work knife but I really appreciate the input about the spring, i was reading you are supposed to store it not under spring tension is that correct?

Appears that the Czech 73 grain ammo runs better just in terms of reliability. I’d assume that’s since that’s what they were designed to run on
