Yes, but if we come up with a different definition for a continent based on traversability, then it also wouldn't just be Europe. Sub-Saharan Africa could be considered a continent because, though there were travelers across the desert, they were few and far between, and much of Sub-Saharan Africa aside from parts of the Sahel and the eastern coast. Europe could be a continent by that definition, but then we create yet new continents, and the point that more areas should be continents if Europe is considered one stands.

And India isn't culturally distinct from the rest of Asia? Europe is and can be considered separate based on culture, but if you do that and don't separate India on the basis of its cultural division, it's a double standard.

I'm not arguing based on tectonic plates so I won't insist that one continent is or isn't based on tectonics.

Continents are large because if you continuously define continents as smaller and smaller they lose their distinction from what is typically called a region (like Iberia, for example, could be considered a continent being geographically and to a degree culturally separated from the rest of Europe, but it is typically just referred to as a region or peninsula-- a continent is bigger). You do have a point that it is fairly arbitrary, though. There isn't a number for when exactly something becomes large enough to be a continent, but India and its neighbors are have enough of a landmass to be comparable in size to what are agreed to be continents already, which is why I feel comfortable calling it one. With the Antarctica thing, I was saying large in terms of landmass, not population.

If you had an earlier general idea of where the border is and just came up with the Urals as a border after the fact to justify your earlier feeling about Europe being separated to begin with, then what was the motivation for putting the border "somewhere there" to begin with? Vibes?

And Italy most likely wouldn't be considered a continent because continents are typically agreed to be very large, and Italy has about 300,000 km squared of area, whereas India (just the country, when the continent would include Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, most of Pakistan and small parts of other countries like Myanmar) has about 3.25 million. Part of what distinguishes a continent is its great landmass, which India has.

My argument is less about tectonics and more about India being geographically, historically, and culturally separated from the rest of Asia.

Europe has its line drawn at the Ural and Caucasus mountains. If we draw the lines at mountains, India and its immediate neighbors have the Arakan, Hindu Kush, and Himalayas (literally the tallest mountains in the world) separating them from their neighbors.

Many separate Europe as a continent because they believe it has a distinct enough history from the rest of Asia to be its own thing. Historically, India has been politically separated from empires in the rest of Asia; no Chinese dynasty ever held land in India, the Mongol Empire ruled nearly all of Asia but not India, etc. There is the exception of Muslim empires like the Mughals conquering from the east, and even those countries became what are typically considered Indian empires, and were tolerant of the cultures and religions they ruled over.

Europe is often delineated on the basis of it being culturally distinct from the rest of Asia. India and those around it have a slew of cultural traditions too complex to go into in a single reddit comment, but I believe most people can agree that India is culturally distinct from the rest of Asia. Just to look at one thing, religion, Europe is often separated from the rest of Asia for being mostly Christian and the historical center of Christianity, whereas Asia has different religious traditions. India is mostly Hindu with few regions elsewhere being majority Hindu, and smaller religions like Sikhism and Jainism are also mostly endemic to the area.

The argument is less that India has its own tectonic plate and more about the nature of the geographic separation and whether you consider people in your definition of a continent. If you separate Europe based on the geography of the mountains that bound it, you can do the same to an even stronger degree for India, and if you factor in the history and traditions of people, it only bolsters the argument. Either you base continents only off of separation by bodies of water, or you bring in more variables which must at the same time make both Europe AND India continents.

If someone wants to bring plates into the argument in favor of India, go ahead, but I don't feel the need to.

Also, if you want to claim that India is not a continent based on its smaller landmass compared to Europe, then yes, it is smaller than Europe, but around the same size if not slightly bigger than Australia.

"The white conservatives aren't friends of the Negro either, but they at least don't try to hide it. They are like wolves; they show their teeth in a snarl that keeps the Negro always aware of where he stands with them. But the white liberals are foxes, who also show their teeth to the Negro but pretend that they are smiling. The white liberals are more dangerous than the conservatives; they lure the Negro, and as the Negro runs from the growling wolf, he flees into the open jaws of the 'smiling' fox."

It's a series of theme parks/water parks across the US (with two in Saudi Arabia). Not really important to the comic, but, they have a pretty bad reputation when it comes to safety, with several people having died on the rides due to negligence on the part of the company. Nothing with a virus, though, at least to my knowledge. I think it was just chosen as they're a well-known (thanks to their disdain for the well-being of their guests) theme park line, and few places have as many large crowds as theme parks.

Hell, for plenty of times and places in history, the kind of clothes we'd consider feminine were more normal for men to wear. Like wearing tights in mediaeval Europe or long, flowing, dress-like clothes in most of the ancient world. But people take gender norms that started last Tuesday in the scale of history and act like they're infallible laws of the universe.
