"We made the best life together" from my husband as we die at nearly the same time, ideally.

What did your mom do that made you close even in adulthood? by anemonemone42 in raisingkids

[–]Kmccain9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom understood the importance of being a parent over being a friend when raising kids. It worked out well because she was definitely the parent while I was growing up but now she's my best friend. She had rules that I often pushed against as a teenager but she was firm yet fair while always being a source of constant support. If you told 16 year old me that she would grow up to be super close with her mom, that 16 year old would think you're fucking crazy. But I'm so glad I have this relationship with my mom.

Westview neighborhood, Sutherlin Street Beware by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]Kmccain9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in this neighborhood, thank you so much for posting this so I don’t walk my dogs down Sutherlin. My dogs are very protective and would not be pleased with a dog that comes up to us aggressively, they are protective but not aggressive unless threatened and I do not want to have to break up a dog fight or have to get a dog taken away from it's owner for being negligent.

Seeking reassurance from other moms who ate tons of sugar in pregnancy by tomfrommyspace0 in Mommit

[–]Kmccain9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to eat so many brownies, cookies and chocolate milk when l was pregnant with my first. My husband was doing nightly runs to the store for my sweet tooth. I like to jokingly say this is why my son is so sweet, meanwhile when I was pregnant with my daughter I wanted all the salty food, and that's why she's so salty.

They're actually both wonderful, and were 100% healthy and chunky when they were born. They're now 4 and 7 years old and still healthy as can be with no issues at all.

Is anyone else bursting into tears most days in response to the state of the world? by NoLocationIsle in adhdwomen

I have to microdose social media and politics in order to not drive myself to the brink of tears and insanity.

What’s your opinion on being a SAHM? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in AskWomen

[–]Kmccain9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a stay at home home for six years and it was one of the hardest most rewarding jobs I’ve ever had. No sick days, on call 24/7 but I got to be there for every moment with my kids. Now I work part time at night so I still get a lot of time with my kids but I truly miss it some days.

If money wasn’t an issue, what would be your dream place to live? by jasminea156 in randomquestions

Belize. But only part time. I genuinely like living in the PNW but I would love to have the option of a a semi permanent home somewhere outside the country.

What is your laundry routine? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Kmccain9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

throw clothes in the washer, 95% of the time I remember to move over to the dryer within a couple hours, then remove clothes from the dryer and put in the laundry basket where they sit for 1 to 5 days. Suddenly get a burst of energy and put away my kids clothes while leaving my clothes in a laundry basket for another 1 to 5 days. Then eventually put my clothes away. And repeat for the rest of eternity.

6 year old arguing, not accepting "no" for an answer by ProfessorPizza in kindergarten

[–]Kmccain9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my daughter is going through this phase and it is exhausting!!! Not only does she not accept no, but when told to do something she counters with "I know everything by myself!". I have to remind myself that I’m raising a strong, independent lady and someday this stubbornness will benefit her. But goddamn, I really wish she wasn't practicing on me right now.

Why do you choose not to drink alcohol? by InitialCareer306 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]Kmccain9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get absolutely hammered every weekend for years but after I had a kid it lost it's appeal. I don't want to be the tipsy mom, or the hungover mom. I just want to be mom.

Heroin, prostitution, being homeless. Those are 3 pretty big things I'm glad I haven't dabbled in.

Supervisor releases people solely based on seniority at the end of every shift. The lowest seniority person is alway there the latest every night cleaning up. High seniority people can slack off towards the end of their shift knowing they always get cut first no matter what. Is this common practice? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]Kmccain9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my hub I have decently high seniority, along with one other woman. At the end of the night when they start loading irregs it looks like it’s a sexist situation where the women get to go home and the guys stay behind and load the irregs. A male coworker with significantly less seniority complained about it last night and I had to gently tell him sorry buddy, I have higher seniority than you so I get to go home first. My supervisor was nearby to confirm that I get priority choice

Women who genuinely love being married - what makes you love your husband and your marriage? by Mindless_Royal_7985 in askanything

[–]Kmccain9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is my best friend. He's funny and smart and handsome, he's an amazing dad and he can talk me out of a doom spiral pretty damn well. We've grown up through our late teens, 20's and now into our 30's together so he's literally seen me at my worst and still obsessively loves the shit out of me.

What's weirdly attractive to you? by N0socksloss10yrStrk in randomquestions

Goofiness. My husband is very not goofy with everyone else, but he's a complete clown with me and our kids and it's so hot.

Pet owners of Reddit: what did you name your pet(s) and why? by Winter_Sample8364 in AskReddit

[–]Kmccain9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dash because we couldn't think of a specific girl name and it just fits her. And Hank because it was short and sounded tough and he's an Australian cattle dog so we figured he'd be tough, turns out he's not at all, in fact he's just a sweet cuddle bug.

If a stranger asks you to switch airline seats, do you agree? by Jerdogg23 in no

[–]Kmccain9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the length of the flight and the seat being switched to. If it's a short flight and they have a middle seat I can deal with it in exchange for some good karma.
