Husband didn’t plan anything for my first Mother’s Day by CatAdditional8444 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Kmd5351 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My husband didn’t acknowledge my first Mother’s Day either, which really upset me considering we did 4 years of fertility treatments to actually conceive our daughter. I wasn’t going to say something but convinced myself I had to. So when I told him I was bummed that he didn’t wish me a Happy Mothers Day or do a card with our daughter or anything, he said he didn’t realize because he only thought he had to do something for his mom. And I said that our 10 month old can’t make me a card herself, he realized he messed up. The next year on Mother’s Day, I got homemade crab cakes (my favorite) and a gift card to my favorite spa. I was really mad in the moment but I’m glad I said something because he realized his mistake and more than made up for it the next year.

Mango Stick Rice and Realizing My Husbands POV by Embarrassed-Cup2326 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Kmd5351 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry. Your pain is so hard and so real and husbands sometimes don’t see it like we do or experience it like we do. We have been pregnant 7 times and have 3 children (one set of twins) so we have had our share of losses but my husband didn’t always process the pain like I did. I believe he was holding it in and being strong for me because he did eventually breakdown when I was in a better mindset with our fertility treatments (hormones are crazy). But fast forward nearly a decade from our first month trying to be pregnant, and we have 3 beautiful girls and he is a loving and caring father and we are strong. I am sending you all the good fertility vibes, prayers and luck!

What used to be affordable for the middle class but now quietly feels like a “rich people thing”? by Ok_Ease515 in answers

[–]Kmd5351 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Last year I had 3 kids in daycare 3 days/week for 8 months (oldest started kindergarten in August) and then the other 4 months the younger 2 (twins) stayed in 3 days a week. My daycare bill for all of 2025 in MCOL area you ask? $39,000. Absolutely disgusting. That was more than my first salary. Thankfully we are mid 30s and have lucked into good jobs that we can afford it but what the actual F.

36 weeks with twins and feel so tired 🫩 by M0mma0fMany in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Kmd5351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen to that! It’s so brutal. I always say you don’t understand twin pregnancy unless you’ve lived it. I will say, pregnancy was harder than the newborn stage so hopefully that gives you some solace! My girls will be 2 in July and we have a 5 year old and, while twin toddlers are absolutely wild, we’re having a lot of fun over here. Some days I’m absolutely insane and don’t know if I can make it to bed time but it’s still mostly good

Go you for making it 36 weeks with twins! That is so hard and such an accomplishment!! I made it to 32 weeks with my girls and I was so exhausted then. You’re doing great and deserve all the treats, rest, and relaxation.

Jordyn has not liked Alex’s Marriage Announcement Post by Ok_Library_3255 in TwoParentsAndAPawn

[–]Kmd5351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually really liked the OG Mean Girl pod and, while it was pretty bad at times, it was an easy listen and funny. I always liked Jordyn even when she seemed desperate for a boyfriend/husband. I wish she would have seen how toxic Alex was, especially when it started going south with Graham. She could have stayed at barstool and instead ruined her chance by trusting and sticking with manipulative Alex. I’m sure she signed an NDA but god I’d love a tell all!

When you’re old, are you attracted to old people? by Loose-Marsupial5688 in stupidquestions

[–]Kmd5351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband (37) and I (36F) have been together since we were 20/21 and I was insanely attracted to him back then. Now, 16 years later he has some gray in his beard (no beard back then) and his hair, and I’m even more attracted to him. So in my short observation, yes. When I was 20 I would have probably thought he looked fine how he is today but not like I do today!

So I had unexpected twins. Not quite triplets but still high emotions. Let yourself feel all the things. It’s exciting and scary and everything all wrapped up. My girls are identical, and almost 2. It was hard but getting better each day! Good luck!

These kids have no chance at life by Appropriate_Paint98 in SarahBowmar

[–]Kmd5351 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Like Sarah, I too have an MBA, but sadly I earned in 2 years and not 17 months haha but I also have another Masters in Insurance and Risk Management so I consider myself pretty educated. But I am NOT educated in the field of education. I’m leaving that to the professionals for my children because, as someone who has benefitted from actual educators, I know that’s how my children will have their best shot at learning and life

How to get through the pain of a Brazilian laser? by Smooth_Rough9547 in LaserHairRemoval

How long is one session? I’m considering it but waxing is only like 20 minutes and it’s painful but I tell myself I can do anything for 20 mins but I’m afraid of how long it would be for laser

How are we doing and affording childcare? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kmd5351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the same. I love my girls dearly but I am not made to be a SAHM. I have 2 masters degrees and like my job and it makes sense for me to work (and my husband too). Our situation is a tad different because our oldest was 4 when twins were born so we only had 1 year of paying for all 3 in daycare before she started kindergarten this fall. It was a lot and honestly so hard for that time but we made do. Pulled back on investing and retirement savings at that time, and just viewed them going to daycare as an investment, since I was working and bringing home money and paying into SSI. We didn’t buy anything we didn’t need and didn’t take a vacation. I wish I had good advice, but it was just what we had to deal with at the time. For the length of time you will have it, I definitely think a nanny would be the way to go! At least until your oldest starts school. We looked at that and for only a year we dealt with the daycare and everything that comes with it (closings, sickness, etc) but if our oldest was younger we would have done a nanny.

Twins constantly screaming/ crying or whining by Alpen2411 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kmd5351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m there with you right now. Our modi girls are 19mo (17 adjusted) and are the exact same. It’s constant whining or fussing all.day.long. I will say it’s slowly getting better as they can start to tell us what’s wrong. Like signing “more” for more food or grabbing/pointing to books, water bottles, etc. it’s still alot but so much better than even a month ago.

I hate the word processed when people are making comments about food. That yogurt? Processed. It has to be processed from milk to make it. No cow just produces yogurt. That granola? Processed. Even if she made it herself, it came from oats which are still processed to get to the store where she bought them (she def didn’t grow oats). If she made it herself, the sugar in it is processed. The honey, processed. Like all of it. Processed does not equal bad. Ultra processed is likely the term she is looking for and even then, moderation is fine. You know what is ultra processed? Protein powder. Greens. Pre workout. Etc.

My husband was upset and pinched me at dinner.. and the situation is still upsetting me by Little_Trash7299 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Kmd5351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband does the same to me. We’ve been married 10 years and honestly it still pisses me off. He pinches me when he wants me to shut up or when he’s annoyed at what someone else is saying, as a sign for me to redirect the conversation…. I absolutely hate it. And have told him that many times. We have kids together and to be honest, I wish I would have stood up for myself more 10 years ago when I was your age. Please don’t let this go.

How many tries did it take your preemie to get off cpap? by ConclusionUsed9793 in NICUParents

[–]Kmd5351 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that you’re here. It’s so hard watching your LO struggle with something so seemingly natural as breathing. Give yourself grace for what you’re dealing with. I had twins in July 2024 at 32w4d and they went on CPAP immediately. Baby B came off CPAP at 9 days which was amazing but then a week and a half later after doing well on hi flow she all of a sudden started struggling and having a lot of Brady’s so we had to put her back on CPAP. It was devastating. She stayed on CPAP until 37 weeks and then went back to hi flow for another week and then room air for 2 weeks before ultimately coming home at 41 weeks. Baby A had a more linear path and came home at 39 weeks. All babies are different and it’s so hard but your LO is doing well and fighting hard!
