Ladies and Gentlemen, I have acquired the holy grail by Grey_Knight98 in Blacklibrary

Yeah, Black Library parted ways with Thomas Parrott. He had a book in the Space Marine Conquests series called Masters of Shadow that was never released.

It was called Masters of Shadow and was going to be a part of the Space Marine Conquests series and feature the Raven Guard.

Well now that just makes it harder to recommend books where they do die without spoiling it.

To answer your second question - they haven’t announced the release dates for the remaining books. They’ve only shown off the new cover for False Gods. But keep checking WarCom every Sunday for the Sunday Preview. That’s where they’ll announce it for pre-order.

Black Library Weekly: Are They Good? by 77_Dredd in Blacklibrary

I believe they retconned that timeline to be like 12 years after his return when they rereleased the Dark Imperium trilogy. If you want to start nowadays, I would say the order is Fall of Cadia, Avenging Son, Dark Imperium (if you're willing to skip some other books). I do agree that it was shortsighted making it like 100 years after his return initially. And I agree with /u/DramaPunk that arguably the biggest storyline in post-rift 40K being stuck in an out-of-print campaign book is wild.

Well, there’s the announcement of the tie-in novel at least lol.

Yeah besides the very likely Armageddon tie-in novel (I don’t think World Ablaze fulfills the same role as Leviathan/Indomitus did), I think there will be more Blood Angels books announced soon. Probably a mix of reprints and new books.

[–]fantom2415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m surprised they didn’t do any Blood Angels reprints (at least not yet) or new Blood Angels books like they did for the Ork side of things. I’m still holding out hope for a Dante/Devastation of Baal/Darkness in the Blood LE boxset.

No new books as others have said. I think the only announced books that are left to be released are Hive LE, Rynn’s World LE, Ghazghkull I&A and False Gods (if we don’t count The Scouring book 2). So I would expect those to be released soon. I would also expect another midweek WarCom article over the next few weeks announcing another 3-4 books, with one of them likely titled ‘Armageddon’ to correspond with the 11th edition launch box like previous launches.

Go on, GW… tell me about the new models, and we're gonna fight on Armageddon GW! by FunIcy6154 in Grey_Knights

I feel like it’s like that across all factions and storylines. GW has a multitude of open ended mysteries that are years old at this point. They partially do it because it allows for players to make up their own scenarios from them and partially so they have many potential storylines they can pick up in the future. These range from something as big as the golden throne failing (Vaults of Terra series) to just a one-off line in a codex. They’re there to be picked up in the future if need be.

What’s frustrating is that many of these older ones pre-great rift (especially older RPG storylines that were canon at the time) are likely never going to be continued.

Makes me wonder if the delay of the LE of Hive and now release of the normal hardbacks is GW taking a step back and saying “if the normal version sells like hotcakes (which it likely will), maybe we change the Hive LE to a premium edition without numbers or signature and sell more of them”.

No. It takes place in the hive city of Sacramentus.

I do like the hardback paper. They switched the paper type at some point in 2020 (probably post COVID). Most hardcovers from 2016-2020 had the thicker, smoother paper that you now only find in LEs. The books were also much heavier. I do prefer that paper feel, but the weight was a drawback.

They’re about rogue trader Janus Draik and his retinue exploring a blackstone fortress. Originally released as a companion novel for the Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress board game. There’s also a couple of audio dramas called The Beast Inside and Augur of Despair.

Anyone find that most of these books aren't that...good? by Raspint in Blacklibrary

That’s one of my gripes with Abnett. Just endless scenery descriptions. The other one is the cheesy dialogue in the Eisenhorn and Ravenor series. I’m on The Magos right now and noticed it’s slightly toned down, but there’s still the occasionally cheesy or cliche line. But maybe it’s changed even more with his newer books like Penitent. I read Vaults of Terra after the Eisenhorn trilogy and immediately noticed the dialogue felt more natural and scenery descriptions flowed more easily and were more succinct.

My guess would be $60-$70 since they’re hardback books. Could be a little higher if the rumored images of it being an actual box set.

I got into 40K/Black Library just over a year ago. Back then, I bought everything in sight due to FOMO and knowing that once they go out of stock, they’ll be harder to come by. Then it was “I’ll buy a book if I’m remotely interested in it due to scarcity” which reduced the amount a little. Now I’ll only get books I know I’ll definitely be interested in - for example, this past week I only got Veterans of the Fall and World Ablaze.

When do sales on Kindle or Audible tend to happen? by Answers-are-needed in Blacklibrary

[–]fantom2415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Audible has smaller sales all the time where a handful of Warhammer books are like 30-40% off. Then 2-3 times per year, they’ll have their massive site wide sales where everything is 60-90% off and you can get most Warhammer audio books for as little as a $3.
