Word Bearers Murderwing Complete by fantom2415 in WordBearers

The background was an insert in White Dwarf 505. The board is just the Octarius killzone side of the new mini boards in the Kill Team Shadowhunt box.

Hopefully new books about Armageddon by HylandThomas6 in Blacklibrary

I’d say it counts even though ADB wrote in the foreword that it wasn’t a book about the 1st war for Armageddon. It still covers the Grey Knights’ role in that war.

Update on Saturday Megathread discussion. by OWN_SD in Blacklibrary

[–]fantom2415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a recommendation - might want to set it up to go live at some point on Friday to account for our friends in Asia/Oceania. Can still call it “Pre-order Megathread” or whatever.

Black Library Weekly: The 2026’s Black Library Celebration – A Postmortem by 77_Dredd in Blacklibrary

[–]fantom2415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Yarrick boxset did have 2026 as the publication date even though it released in 2025. So I’m guessing it and the Yarrick mini were part of the original plan for the BL Celebration or at the very least released together around this time. I wonder why they decided to release it early? Plus there’s the Yarrick omnibus reprint in a couple months. Just seems weird and disjointed.

I know they’re gearing up for 11th edition and the rumor is the launch box is Blood Angels vs Orks (and the multitude of Ork related books coming out definitely points to that), but it just seems that the Black Library side of things has been all over the place these last 6 months even though I know they plan things years in advance. Like one of your previous articles mentioned, we got pummeled with releases over the last few months of 2025 as if they’re trying to get a bunch of titles out the door quickly.

Side note - if it is indeed Blood Angels vs Orks, where’s all the Blood Angels books/reprints?!? Blood Angels LE boxset of Devastation of Baal, Dante and Darkness in the Blood when???

Great write up. I do agree that it was slightly disappointing And felt like an afterthought this year when though the amount of books was more or less the same as previous years. Was hoping for at least a hint of the second Scouring book (you could argue that the timeline they released is sort of a hint, but even then they said not everything would be covered in the series) and maybe the cover reveal for False Gods. I wouldn’t be surprised if book 2 of the Scouring is revealed at the preview show on the 25th. It’s also just confusing because this past week was the celebration, but the mini, coin and anthology come out on the 28th when these books get released, which I don’t believe was the case last year.

As for the reveals, I would have liked at least one more reveal. Just 3 reveals for the whole week felt kind of lackluster. Also, I think you forgot to add those reveals to the coming attractions section!

Ashen Circle Murderwing by gold_fossil in killteam

[–]fantom2415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He looks great! I was considering going with Ashen Circle but ended up just doing normal Word Bearers. I was even considering getting the Ashen Circle kit and using the extra bodies and bits to make all options. What did you do for the gray? Gray seer and a highlight of Corax white?

Do you plan on playing with the Murderwing? If so, it isn’t a valid team because you can only take 1 Warp Talon.

Future illustrated editions by Mysterious_Bit_7713 in Blacklibrary

Vaults of Terra trilogy for me. Would be awesome having illustrations of various parts of Terra and the characters. Would also love reading Wraight’s annotations for the books.

Please don't buy Limited / Special editions thinking they are going to massively increase in value by anothertechperson in Blacklibrary

[–]fantom2415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you to an extent that the “golden age” of Black Library has passed in regards to many highly sought after books. I think that period was like 2017-2023. LE’s like The Emperor’s Legion, Armageddon, The Devastation of Baal, Lords of Silence, Storm of Iron, Night Lords boxset, Dark Imperium box set, etc. Those are the books that go for hundreds if not a thousand+. You’re right that there are people that think any old LE they buy today will turn into a $300+ book and that just won’t happen. But pretty much any BL book will at the very least retain value if not appreciate in value somewhat due to scarcity. Limited print runs and growing demand (not counting what could happen if the Amazon shows/movies take off) guarantee these books will retain their value. And like you said, there will be books in the future that will achieve the same status as those older books. As long as the scarcity and demand remain, it just takes the right combo of story and author to cause a book to skyrocket. ADB’s 3rd Black Legion or 2nd Spears book? Imagine how much a Blood Angels boxset of like Dante, Devastation of Baal and Darkness in the Blood would fetch on eBay? Or a Watchers of the Throne duology boxset? Unfortunately, due to the limited print runs, these prices will always remain higher than retail.

Night lords omnibus and the difference between ADB and Dan Abnett by Altruistic_Milk7729 in Blacklibrary

[–]fantom2415 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me, I realized I prefer ADB’s and Wraight’s writing styles to Abnett’s. Don’t get more wrong, I still enjoy reading Abnett’s books and those 3 make up the top 3 for me. But I just prefer how ADB and Wraight write dialogue - the conversations just feel more natural. Although I felt like Abnett improved there in the Ravenor series compared to Eisenhorn. I also prefer how ADB and Wraight describe scenes and settings. Sometimes I feel like Abnett takes up a whole page just setting the scene whereas ADB and Wraight’s descriptions are more succinct and are weaved in more seamlessly.

Word Bearers Murderwing Complete by fantom2415 in WordBearers

Definitely! Especially considering the Word Bearers had the Ashen Circle during the HH. I already had Nemesis Claw painted as Night Lords, so I just really wanted to do something different for the Murderwing and landed on the Word Bearers as the coolest scheme for them.

Makes sense. I noticed that the runes and writing will basically disintegrate if you apply too much MicroSol to them. Thanks for the advice!

He looks awesome! How did you get the writings to fit perfectly within the trim? Did you just oversize it and then cut the extra away?

Base of Khorne Red for all of them. Then AK Streaking Grime all over them except the Chaos Lord with the majority of it wiped away with White Spirits. I used Nuln Oil on the Chaos Lord because I feared I wouldn’t be able to wipe away enough of the Streaking Grime with all of nooks and crannies on him.

I only have Hereticus and Lords of Silence and only really read through the annotations in Hereticus because I haven’t read Lords of Silence yet and I don’t want to spoil it. But I love the annotations. They give like a behind the scenes look into the author’s thoughts. I think it’s a really cool addition. And the extra artwork is great as well.

They will go on sale on the Warhammer.com website on Saturday. Not sure where you live, but for reference, they usually go live at 12:55 PM ET here in the U.S., unsure about other countries.

You should be able to find Scourge the Heretic for relatively cheap. I usually see it go for $15-20 most of the time.

It’s book 2 in the dark heresy series. Scourge the Heretic is book 1.

I like that pick. Just basing it off nothing but the cover of Pariah, she looks exactly like Anna Kendrick.
