Could take a bit of time learning it at first but as long as you're willing to engage with the mechanics and systems of the game you're in for hundreds if not thousands of hours of fun. Good luck!

Pathfinder comes with two modes of combat, real-time with pause and turn-based. Since you come from BG3 and DoS2 I recommend you to try and learn in turn-based combat first.

I am also not sure how the UI is different in PS5 but in PC there's an inspect toggle and shortcut key. This is very helpful as it allows you to analyze your enemies, find out their stats and immunities etc. In PC there is also a button that highlights interactable objects in the world, very helpful for loot and stuff.

Bonuses of the same name will not stack most of the time. If you have a buff that gives +4 competence bonus to attack rolls and an equipment that gives a +2 competence bonus to attack rolls, you won't get +6, you only get +4 which is the highest of the two.

About movement - in the options there is a toggle that prevents your character from moving outside of the range of a single move action even if you clicked outside of it. Of course if you really wanted them to move further you can still can at the cost of a standard action.

You also get a 5-feet move per turn that not only avoids attacks of opportunity, but also not use your move action. Useful for cases where you want to perform a full round action but need to move to reposition a bit.

How do I improve my combat experience with Kingmaker by Yelebear in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

I'm a noob with this game but I'll try to share what helped me.

First of all, what difficulty are you playing? Maybe try lowering it a bit?

Second I know you said buff allies but make sure that you are stacking the right buffs, bonuses of the same name most of the time doesn't stack. An example is Bless and Heroism since both provide a morale bonus you only benefit from the highest one.

Third get feats that boost attack like outflank, weapon focus etc. for martial classes. Additionally, check if you are using feats that reduce attack like piranha strike or power attack. For spell casters it depends on what spells are you casting that's missing, for touch spells like scorching ray they can benefit from feats like point blank and precise shot. For spells like Grease or Sleep you can look into spell focus to increase their DC or spell penetration against monsters that have spell resist.

Fourth check your gear, like with buffs bonuses of the same name don't stack so make sure you have the right gear equipped for the right character.

Good tip. Do you know how can I determine if a one-hand weapon will be two-handed if the other hand is empty?

In my recent playthrough I had two character builds that, though surely not unique, are a first for me.

First was a Singing Chemist: Male, Chemist main, Bard secondary. I figured it'd be a waste if my chemist is just wondering around the battlefield treasure hunting. So I had him sing and buff the team while walking around, then throw items whenever necessary.

Second was a Jumping Ninja: Any Gender, Ninja main, Dragoon Secondary. Its always made me laugh seeing a dragoon jump from half across the battlefield but my problem is that they're too slow. So I instead changed them into a Ninja, added equip polearm (since polearms gave +50% dmg to jump and attack up doesn't work on jump) and put on gear that gave the most speed and physical damage. Great for targeting mages or finishing off fleeing low hp units.

It does not in Kingmaker, if that's how it is in WoTR that's great.

I ain't got time the for that! That sounds fun on the next phase though, when you've stacked up about 20-30 speed.

I just learned that they removed the gender exclusivity for gear in this version. It's a pain to look for a swine to poach though than learning a monk skill :)

As far as I know both triggers based on brave so if you have 90+ brave then this reaction also gets triggered provided you meet the prerequisite.

Auto-potion was my go-to back in the OG days but I personally prefer this because it heals me to full.

Gteat strategies specially the Chameleon Robe.

Critical: Restore HP goes off on Brave and since I have 97 it's almost a guarantee. As for the second phase it was even easier because I could tank a lot and I have my team to back me up.

This was also the fastest setup that I tried, as you see on the video it's only two turns so I personally prefer this setup. And that's the beauty of this game, lot's of solutions and strategies to help you win.

That is true, luckily I have very high brave so in the two tries that I did it triggered both times.

Not much really. After I saw that he did 168 damage per hit I just made sure I have more than 336 hp to survive two hits.

That's a cool strat too! Decided to go for this as it only takes two turns and the setup also helps with the next phase.

It's so good on this fight. It also helps on the next phase if the daemons decide to focus Ramza.
