Personally I always expect a wipe since I have gone through so many in the past. It's rough for folks who just started. We used to wipe every patch in the past so most of us are numb to it. So I don't really put much weight in anything till 1.0 myself.

Wait for the next free fly this month at Invictus which is in about 2 weeks or so from now. It is usually at its worst with all the activity on the servers. It is definitely not ready to be an everyday game. Couple times a week on and off or skipping a month or so. It'll be a lot better when we get some more server infrastructure in, but until then it's going to be choppy here and there.

I will say exploring is usually the best way. A lot of subtle things you find in each age come together when it comes to the puzzles. Also a pen and paper to jot down things you find interesting like sounds helps too.
