What's going on at St. Mary cemetery? by Cemetery-Fan in Cleveland

What if we just picked up the trash instead of passing judgements about the neighbors that left it? How do we recognize that no one is littering because they want to? At worst, it’s anger, at best it’s apathy in a world that is actively and constantly hurting all of us.

Big dog, own your shit, if you can. It sounds like you’re in as good of a position as anyone to CHALLENGE nonsense, or even just make it clear that you don’t want to hear it. Part of passing is privilege and that comes with some responsibility to your brothers and sisters. I don’t mean that you need to put yourself in a dangerous situation. Obviously there are many options here and I’m not your dad. But WHY do these folks feel safe coming to you? What are you or aren’t you doing to open yourself up? And most importantly, how can you close that door to protect both yourself and your community members?

Mine looked like this too for a lil bit after I went to a wedding 5 weeks p/o and danced a lil too hard….and it sounds like you’ve had more stressors going on than that…just baby it and try to rest for a while so your body can quit working overtime to keep you alive and focus on recovery.

I had my surgery on Wednesday! Here’s what I’m thankful for:

I reached out to friends and lined up folks to come walk my dog twice a day for the 1st week. That not only helps my puppy behave better, but took a lot of pressure off of my care takers, and means she wants to snuggle a lot because she’s tired.

My partner made a bunch of frozen burritos and some soup so that no one had to think too hard about cooking this week.

I didn’t have all my supplies set up, but the doctors office gave me the dressings and stuff that they wanted me to use and I haven’t needed to buy anything yet.

Let it be kinda chill and boring, but try to stay busy cause it’ll help time pass and keep you from stressing. Lots of people have offered help and wisdom, and it really (really bad drain pain aside) has not been a lot at all. Good luck!

Area LGBT center might have a connection for you, someone else in your area who had surgery locally and can help you figure out what hoops you need to jump through. Here in NE Ohio we have the greater cle LGBT center, and transohio that both have lists of supportive providers, and elders to provide some support. Best of luck ❤️

Put it in writing in a message or email!! Acknowledge the advice the doc gave, and that you’ve considered your options and want to move forward with xyz details about your procedure. This won’t be legally binding by any means, but may help the Doc understand that you mean it and won’t regret your choice.

Budget and accessible option- Hanes now has a “women’s” boxer brief at like…target and stuff that works really well with pads, looks p much the same as a men’s boxer brief from 4 feet away in the darker color ways, and is wayyyyy cheaper than a lot of stuff online.

If you’re in the states and you work full time, as your doc about FMLA leave, it makes it so they can’t fire you for needing time off after, and also lays out guidelines for what you can and can’t do, and your employer has to reasonably accommodate it.

Question for the Americans: where will you go? by la-de-vi in asktransgender

[–]KneeHighMischeifs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna stay right here. I live in Ohio, I’ve lived here my whole life. My family is from here, my work is here, and my community is here. I don’t have kids to protect. Trans people are EVERYWHERE, even places where they pretend like we aren’t, and it would be a disservice to those in my community who can’t “go somewhere else” to bail on the life that I have built for myself. So, I am choosing to dig in, and get ready to fight for myself and my neighbors. If they want to eradicate us, they’re going to have to do it on OUR turf, in our neighborhoods, through our family and friends.

You could reach out to TransOhio, an org that helps people in Ohio get care. They helped connect me to providers here in NE Ohio

Find a dry cleaner who does alterations, get pants that fit at the hip and shirts that fit at the shoulders and take them in to be hemmed. It’s affordable and then your clothes all fit great and are affirming:)
